Hawke's not a bad name in itself, but I'm having some trouble thinking of first names that sound good with it.

Hmm, no, I personally veto all of those names. I never thought any of those names were any good. Maybe they suit a short hairy hobbit, but not a hero in a video game (Hawke isn't going to be Frodo)

Clearly his name should have been Gaider.

That, or Skywalker.

Frodo Baggins. Fail.

More like Doosh Baggins. You know what I mean.

Well to be honest, Shepard, a form of Shepherd. The one looking after his sheep, etc., it is not a coincidence many people like the name ... and some don't.

...must ...

At any rate. I'm not fond of Hawk, but I could live with Shepard. For the most part, I find Hawke too blunt in the meaning department. Possibly because Shepard is an extra letter removed... I don't know what it is, really. But you might as well have given him the last name Badass or whatever.

That may be true in most situations but seriously, "Hawke?" How much more generic can you get?

"Smith"?

slightly more seriously though, i wonder how many hating on "Hawke" barf equally hard at "Altair" of Assasin's Creed fame...
