Hmm.. I think Mass Effect, mainly because it's sci-fi and deals with the Potential of Humanity, and What it means to be Human rather than "ANCIENT EVIL ARISES, you must Gather the other 3 being of light to quell the darkness and save all the forest creatu-blah blah blah"

I'll take Mass Effect over Dragon Age, but I love both.

It'd take way too long for me to go over why.

Mass Effect

I care more about the characters (the friendships feel real), I enjoyed the battles greatly and it has a wonderful "epic" feel to it. I also agree with javierabregazo above.

Dragon Age I just got bored and stopped playing it...can't even quite say why. Also, with the exception of humans the rest of the races were just so beat down, or on the verge of annhilation, it was depressing

So far Mass Effect. I don't have the sequel to Dragon Age yet.

Mass Effect for the universe and IP, Dragon Age for the actual game.

ME by far, as Dragon Age disappointed me on nearly every level.

Mass Effect for it's characters and lore.

Dunno about Dragon Age, I'm just getting started with it.

I have to say Dragon Age because there was more characters to recruit and they had better personalities than Mass Effect. The game was also longer too. The story and characters were better in Dragon Age and the gameplay was better in Mass Effect.

I still have played Awakening or Mass Effect 2 yet though. I only played Dragon Age Origins and Mass Effect 1.

I usually pick fantasy games over sci fi, and I greatly enjoyed DA (in top 10 probably), but before ME I had never played a really good action/RPG hybrid. ME pulls far ahead just because it's a great blend of several of my favorite game genres, something that I had never played before.

Dragon Age for the far bigger number of talky bits and the general expansiveness of the game. I'm probably stopping at two playthroughs of the ME trilogy (My MaleShep, which is my "gamer-y" playthrough, meaning no spoilers, and a general attitude of trying for the best possible ending; and my FemShep, which is my "let's tell a story" playthrough. In that one, I know all of my options and manipulate the game to make the story follow a narrative arc which I've already planned out. I didn't start ME1 as FemShep until I had played through it and ME2, and I will not start ME2 until I finish the trilogy with my MaleShep. That way, I know exactly what my decisions will do to the story). Dragon Age, on the other hand, has so many options and so much hidden stuff that I see myself coming back to it again and again.

Hoo boy.  I love both game series, so this is not an easy choice.  Both have advantages over the other.  I'd have to say Mass Effect 2, as science fiction appeals to me slightly more than fantasy.

Mass Effect series all the way.

Love Dragon Age, but it just doesnt have the same "epic" factor ME possesses.

Dragonage had a more satisfying ending than Mass Effect 2 but who knows how Dragonage 2 will end. hard to say at this point I like them equally.

Dragon Age >> Mass Effect for me. However you are asking this question in a ME forum so answers are going to be inevitably heavily skewed towards favouring ME.

Why? I am not too big a fan of the movie experience and I found interactions and relations with companions far more enjoyable in DA.

Still liked ME just not as much as DA.

Mass Effect, because its combat isn't a broken mess. I wanted to like Dragon Age more than any other title out there at the time, but I literally could not make it work for me on the 360.

I lie better when it comes to women. Men, I always flub body signals and send totally the wrong message.

I hear ya.  360 version was terrible; I played it on a friend's PC and it was basically a different game.  Now if I only had a spare $30 laying around...

Mass Effect....I've surely played it more than Dragon Age.

Probably because of the characters.

Dragon Age. Mass Effect 1 is really close though.
