Dragon Age.......I just love it!
What do you lie better and why? The Mass Effect series or The Dragon Age series?

For me it's got to be Mass Effect, for a reason that was stated above: I really like the combat system in place, whereas the combat system in Dragon Age is a bit like this video - a good idea in the beginning.

Hmm.. I think Mass Effect, mainly because it's sci-fi and deals with the Potential of Humanity, and What it means to be Human rather than "ANCIENT EVIL ARISES, you must Gather the other 3 being of light to quell the darkness and save all the forest creatu-blah blah blah"
Sounds like mass effect too...
I prefer ME. I love the ME universe... and I admit that the graphics and especialy the dialogue animations/camera angles made the game feel more like a movie. DAO combat was not as fun either. ME also had better game pacing.

Dragon Age. Wielding swords has always held a special place in my heart.

Mass Effect, Dragon Age's combat was just horribly unpolished. Comparing based on story is harder, ME1's main story was good but I thought the characters were pretty boring. ME2's main story was a bit weak but the characters were a huge improvement. Similarly Dragon Age's main story was a bit too standard (kill orcs and dragon) but the characters were good, would be nice if we'd had an intelligent opponent, Loghain kinda fit that bill but he was more of a misguided obstacle than a true opponent, looks like the DA2 villain might be better

Mass Effect. I've always preferred Sci-Fi to fantasy. And there's no better sci fi then Mass Effect

Let's see. I've seen the explosion at the end of ME1 a dozen times, the explosion at the end of ME2 four times...and have yet to motivate myself to play past Lothering.
My answer is obvious.

I won't make the choice between them, as in this case I will have my cake and eat it, since BioWare is so generous. Both games have pros and cons, as well different styles of play. Rather than debate which one is better, I play and love both.
Of course it also helps that in both series, I have wonderful love interests

Mass effect- the guns, the graphics, the overall design of the game and most important- the main character is voiced. I know it's a small thing but it bugged me in DA. It kinda deprives the character of presense. And there's always gonna be this problem with medieval type RPGs- when you swing a sword the enemy can't be animated to respong to that attack.(+ the critical hits/coup de graces in DA tend to get effed up).
Don't get me wrong- I love DA, but ME I love better

I am glad for both. My preference is Mass Effect but not by much. I devour content for each universe but I put Mass Effect on top because I am more into sci-fi and the "Cinematic" feel of that universe. Dragon Age can also be one of those games that you love but another playthrough can be daunting.

Dragon Age - the characters are more interesting and have more depth than ME's, and no morality system means I don't feel obligated to pick the top/bottom option most of the time to make sure I can pass Persuasion checks later on. Also I love the combat on the PC version, I hear it's different for consoles though.
Mass Effect is more polished and has a stronger "epic" feeling rolling through the game however; there are very few games I've played which emulate the feeling I get on Virmire or either of the two game's final levels.

Dragon Age, I prefer the tactical fights you have on the PC version to the more action orientated combat of the ME games. And the character interaction felt better and more natural in the DA:O for me.

Never played DA as I prefer Sci-Fi over fantasy. That said, I'll be checking out DA2, I have a feeling that it might surprise me.

Love both games, but I'd have to say Mass Effect kind of sneaks it. Which surprises me, since I generally prefer fantasy to SF, I like pause and play, and I'm not that good at shooter-type gameplay! In the end, it comes down to the characters for me. Both games have some great personalities, but for me Garrus, Tali, Ashley, Wrex, Liara, Mordin, Jack, Aria, The Illusive Man, Joker et al are some of the most memorable characters I've encountered in any medium. I will be so gutted when the ME story comes to an end.

I have to agree with you, AllThatJazz. It's the characters that really make Mass Effect for me. Dragon Age did have good characters, but I felt more attached to the Mass Effect crew.

Dragon Age. The relationships in Dragon Age are much more complex, the way that you gain loyalty, you have to try harder and dig much more into their personalities. It's not just a simple choice between good or evil, or one loyalty mission. Also, there is much more gameplay, and it is not half taken up by grinding or in ME2's case, scanning planets. The game mechanics are also far more detailed. It's much more fun getting different types of weapons or armor, because they make more of a difference. There's just so much more to do and I find the battles harder and in need of more strategy. When all is said and done, I will probably play through DA 10 times. I'll probably play throught ME 4 or 5.
I really like ME though, it is a lot of fun and has many similar characteristics of what makes DA great for me.

I like Dragon Age about halfway through the game, The Ending to Dragon Age: Origins was better then ME1, And better (In a way.) then ME2's ending.
I like ME for its cinematics (ME2.) and well... The Combat...
Thats about it.
