Mass Effect games were plain boring for me with an uninteresting story and a too shooter like gameplay. Dragon Age is a bit better but far from being in the top ten of my prefered RPGs.

All the games from BW have more or less the same story (when there is a story) since Kotor or even NWN OC. Most of the NPCs are close to one seen in previous BW games. Yet, there may be some emotion in the game and are fun to play generally, but a lot less than RPGs developped ten years ago that I play again every year.

Overall, the video game industry, because of the cost of the flashy graphics and thus the necessity to sell a lot, is becoming like the hollywood movie industry : mainstream, for everybody, without originality.
