Does anyone know, or if it hasn't been released, maybe a representative from BioWare could enlighten us, but how many party members will be allowed in a group at a time?

I've always felt that DA could have benefited greatly from an extra party slot which would have allowed more creativity when it came to composition.  You required a rogue (for traps and locks) and a mage (for healing) in your party, and most people decided to use a warrior as a 'tank', and if you wanted an offensive mage or...well, you were just screwed.

My concern is that since BioWare has to work within the confines of the console's limits that they may decide to lower it to the 'standard' three, which I will be quite disappointed with, especially if your companion numbers are anything similar to what BioWare typically has in their games.

Thoughts?  Opinions?  Knowledge?

Opinion is it will be 4 in a group.

If you see the picture with Hawke in front you can see the outline of bodies.

If you count the bodies you can count 20.

They may be companions but no one knows.

20 possible companions over the 10 years sound pretty good.

Yes, I thought of this, but then immediately dismissed it.  I think it's more likely that those outline show particularly important NPCs, who may or may not be companions, instead of solely people you can bully into your party.

Meh a rise to power can have many paths that may gain you many different allies.I like my idea better.

I would be against a full 5th party slot, but I think Dog should have had his own, and perhaps we should have been given a couple choices for a "pet" slot with various other animal choices.

The quad may or may not have something to do with the numbers on the poster of the concept art though I do find it fasinating.

NWN 2 had a giant bear on the expansion. It would be interesting if Bioware gave you a new type of animal who could talk. I think it would be interesting if you had as a secret party member someone who is tainted or an animal of the taint. Hell, I think it would be just plain awesome if you had a party member who was a freaking darkspawn who could help you. This would give us more knowledge and personal informations on the matter.

The people in the background could just represent the fact that the decisions you make will affect many people throughout Thedas.

Yeah, if there's a pet, it shouldn't take up a group slot. I never took Dog anywhere for this reason.

And if there IS a pet, I'd prefer it to be nothing more outlandish than a Mabari. I mean, I see people suggesting pet gryphons, drakes, darkspawn, etc. No thank you.

Dude, there you go being reasonable and logical. Not at all in the spirit of these forums.  Better to take the slightest snippet of information and extrapolate wildly.

Like, for example, I assume that Hawke will have 20 wraith-ghost types as companions... 'cause, thats what is in that single promotional picture, ya know.  And none of them appear to be dwarf wraith-ghosts, either!
