Yup. I remember reading that somewhere. I also remember the fact that they were exceedingly rare. Plus, I feel for the poor dwarf woman who has to give birth to a half-human baby. Ow, jeez.

I would like to see someone like Zevran - handsome and dangerous man so my male character could have fun with him :). To my opinion he was the best companion ever

Her name escapes me at the moment, but I'd like to see the girl who worked for some creep at the tavern in Redcliffe that I gave a silly amount of money to so she could leave for a better life in Denerim.

I believe she has a LOT to thank me for...

Edit : From the wiki :

Dwarves have difficulty reproducing and many dwarves consider humans and
elves lesser races. For this reason, they are also against interspecies
relations. Humans and dwarves can produce half-dwarves, but this is
very rare.

They do exist.

I apologize I remember reading about that. I need to check the source again. I remember him stating that, but if they do have the half/dwarf human they would should implement it in this new game so I could see where your companion would fit. I would see this companions kind of like a secret character or a DLC.

I was just thinking, wouldn't it be cool if you could have a character in your party that betrays you? Like, in a big way, perhaps? Other games might have done this, but I haven't personally seen them.

Like what if you had a character that doesn't support you right when you need it the most and then tries to explain it away and you have to decide whether to trust them or not. I think more evilish characters could make the game very interesting.

-An arcane warrior mage or battle mage who uses a wicked sword, he ran away from the Qunary lands because they put leashes and cut their tongues of the mages there, he dislikes maleficar because they give mages a bad name but is no stranger to evil deeds. Hates the chantry and templars and if given the chance always argues the chant of light and the beliefs of the Maker. Just like most Qunary he has a harsh and biaised view of things. Hates when people call him a tal Vashot** (**sorry for the spelling)Could be a he or a she of course....

- I am also sure by viewing all the comments on romances for dao that a majority (including me of course)would love Alistair to be back.. He is a great comic relief....

- an Archer-scout-rogue, very tricky uses bombs and poisons, dislikes straight up battles even if it means lying and cheating. Would betray his mother if it meant to save his own skin, is in it for himslef...always.

I always found it annoying that your party in Origins basically consisted of the most diverse group of folks anywhere in Thedas:
[*]Bastard son of King Maric and a Grey Warden

[*]Witch of the Wilds

[*]Qunari Vanguard

[*]Bard from Orlais

[*]Assassin from Antiva

[*]Golemn from Orzammar

[*]A Mage whom was resurrected by a Spirit of the Fade

[*]The husband of a Paragon-A mabari warhound
Awakening was even more crazy:

[*]Apostate Mage who isn't a Maleficar (none of the apostate mages you encounter save for Dalish keepers and of course Morrigan/Flemmeth aren't Maleficar)

[*]Female Dwarf member of the Legion of the Dead who doesn't want to die

[*]Exiled Dalish Keeper in training with anger issues

[*]The son of the biggest **** in all of Ferelden

[*]A spirit of the Fade inhabiting the decaying dead body of a Grey Warden

[*]AN OLD FAVOURITE

While I understand why party members are always so diverse and what not... call me crazy but I kind of like the idea of relatively normal people with unique perspectives or personalities.

One idea I've always liked is a simple person (I tend to think of them as Female and Elven but it really doesn't matter) whom is conscripted into the Warden's against their will along with a  close friend or sibling of some sorts; and during the Joining her friend/sibling dies while she survives. The idea is that they would abhor the Warden's and view them as a crazy cult and run away from them.

I think it'd be interesting to really explore the Warden's from an outside perspective, since so much of DA is focused on how the Warden's are the "heroes" and that they just do what needs to be done.  I think it'd be quite easy to paint them as the villains, going so far as to establish them as a cult. (Especially when you consider their secretive Joining ritual and zealous hatred against the Darkspawn)

[*]BECAUSE ITS MORE FUN, and we get to learn more about Thedas and its inhabitant, and they all have different view point and reactions to events.... isnt that the point???

and because she is not a fighter.... you have the possibility to ask her to join you and she refuses because of the dangerous life style...  naahhh if you want a female companion wouldnt you want one who would take a blade for you?? not run away screaming pulling her hair out...Posted Image

Hell, on that note why not have companions that make themselves useful in camp rather than just stand around?

Something like you could do with the Apprentices in the Sphere of Wizardry (or whatever it was called) in BG2 if you were a Wizard yourself. Past a certain trigger, have companions who just go out and collect herbs, or offer to repair your battle-worn armour to make it more efficient, or be given a conversation option to give them orders or ask favours. And if it's just the party bard occasionally singing a new tune in the background.

This.
It'd be nice to pick up companions for a reason instead of just because they were there. As much as I liked Zev, Wynne, and Oghren they really didn't offer me something I didn't already have in Lel, Morrigan, and Sten/Alistair/Shale other than some new personalities.

So I'd like to see something like:
-A female Qunari. Either Warrior or Rogue. Tal'Vashoth obviously since women can't be warriors under the Qun. But, she's a smith which is why she knows how to fight.
In camp/base she provides her  services to forge customized armor and weapons (think Winter Forge mod) and upgrades your gear.
-A male soldier, definately warrior. Maybe the battled-hardened-lone-survivor type guy.
In camp you can spar with him to build up xp and learn new classes.
-Drunken apostate city-elf mage, male or female doesn't matter.
In camp he or she can be the one who makes potions and poisons from the ingredients you pick up in the world.
-Superserious SOBER dwarf. Female. Preferably Dagna. class doesn't matter.
In camp she makes custom runes (thanks to her studious work at the circle) and enchants your gear.

So uh... a bit like the way they worked in Awakening except instead of a bunch of random merchants I don't care about it's your companions instead.

Here's my one
A badly scarred (literally on her face and emotionally) elven warrior. She escaped from her tevinter masters through hardship a few years back and now just seeks any chance to make a quick buck and live another day. She's not in touch with nature, she doesn't want to go live with the Dalish (who she thinks are in denial of their modern place in the world) and she doesn't hold the mega-anti-human grudge.

She hasn't really got any strict code to speak of. Would rescue a pair of kids from a housefire but wouldn't help a poor villager get his stuff back from bandits that live in the nearby hills, cos hey, why doesn't he go and what does she get out of it? Likewise anyone who attacks her is DEAD, no begging, no pleading...well maybe if there's sufficient monetary compensation but even then she might kill them just if they were pissy about it.

So not a technically evil or good character, she doesn't save kittens but she doesn't want to take over the world (Bison: OF COURSE!) She's only searching for something, but she doesn't know what.

In layman's terms, an elf-milf clint eastwood with a ****ing scar.

an extremely jugemental woman warrior, believes in the chantry like the revere mother does, looks down on everyone....incredibly annoying and self righteous and eventualy realises that she may be wrong, that the chantry path she as taken may not be The way. (maybe catches the revere mother making out with a templar..hehe)

1. A chasind barbarian warrior—perhaps his/her tribe was wiped out by the blight.

2. An insane mage—like the Mad Hermit from the Brecilian Forest.

3. A sylvan—like the Old Oak Tree in Brecilian Forest.

4. A demon from the fade that agrees to help you for a price.

5. Maybe Connor—after he finishes the harrowing—unless of course you killed him in Origins.
