Mass effect 2 had paragon and renegade triggers for the game which actually made the game more fun. It was included in the dialogue wheel. I'm wondering if Bioware will put Triggers in DA 2 as well. Just to give it some extra spice.

Without a morality meter, I don't think so.

Just like how you could already persuade and intimidate in the first game?

No, like pushing people out of windows, etc.

Ah, should've read that better. Could work in DA as well, I suppose.

I loved the interrupts. Shooting at Kolyat, zapping the batarian tech working on the gunship, and hugging Tali were some of my favorite moments.

only this time the renegade trigger would be like taking your sword and deheading someone. Oh, I could just see the possibilities!Posted Image OK, right in a dramatic scene your HAwke would grab s/he love interest adn embrace them. Just like shepard did Tali. (i cried at the moment in the game. It made me so happy. Posted Image

I'm still wondering how they would go about using the triggers in the game? Especially how they might inplement them Hawke and s/he's personality and choices?

What I'm wondering is if we still have the special dialogues opened up depending on the character- things like cunning, intimidation, persuade, those sort of options. Or even expand that idea further with class based unique responses- maybe if you are a blood mage, a unique dialogue opens up if you're speaking to another blood mage, things like that...

And if they did have it would the skill level of say persausion effect the triggers if they have them in DA2?

And I think ME should control this spice.

While fun, the last thing we need is people making MORE claims DA2 is just ME with swords....

The option to shove someone out of a window (as an example) is awesome. However I hate the fact that I have to be a random jerk for most of the game to get that option. The options to do these things should not have a "badass points" system. It should be available to someone who is normally helpful, if he feels the need to be a jerk sometimes he should be able to.

Thats a good way to put it, because on david stated that. Choices will be choice in this game so them just having some random triggers in certain situations would be kind of cool. Just because some more immersion into the experience.
A way to do it is for example say. A character is needing help. Well you could get two different triggers. One for hawke to apply bandages if the person is wounded. or another to execute the person if your hawke thinks this person is slowing you down on the quest.

But... you don't have to. Interrupts are completely unrelated to the morality meter in ME2. A full Paragon can do all the Renegade interrupts and vice versa.

Heres is what David said exactly from this thread. http://social.biowar...575146/2#576558

We would put a different indicator thingy on each option, if we thought it different enough to warrant it. If I were to wrote those examples you name as two different options, I'd make sure to differentiate them a little more and make sure they not only had the proper indicator thingy but also a non-confusing paraphrase. In essence, however, it's less different than working with a regular PC choice list than I thought it would be... and we've also no paragon/renegade axis to tie ourselves to. Choices are just choices.

Which is to say that it's easier to show than explain. You'll see what we mean eventually.

This is what I'm poing out with triggers that there may not be a good or bad decision if they are brought in. This would show. The example I gave above gives a better stating on how they might handle a certain situation. and I actually stole that situation from the first game. Fight as your warden enters the forest at ostagar to collect darkspawn blood and recieve the treaties. Its when you find the soldier who you help, kill, or etc. The trigger would have work great in a situation like that.

Not just talking about interrupts. Being nice to people in the past doesn't mean if circumstances change I can't be a jerk. Talking more specifically about the "red/blue" comment options in ME.

Yes, but those wouldn't count in DA 2. David has already stated this fact. ITs the choices.
