That said, I would like to note I have complete confidence in you guys when it comes to creating excellent games, unlike very vocal minority that runs the internet.

The same thing you are asking for is very similar to the change between ME1 and ME2 armor systems. In the first game you got reskins with different numbers attached, and in ME2 you got one set of armor that was customizable, plus the DLC armor. Just saying, making customizable armor might mean less types of armor.
I would much rather have less armour choices with more variation in appearance than more armour choices that mostly look the same.
However I agree that an armour customization system would be nice and what I would really like to see is the ability to create your own armour, you design the look by mixing and matching spaulders, chest pieces, leggings colour ect and the stats are dependent on what type of materials you use, the type of armour it is and the enchantments you cast. I know it is unlikely we will see something like this but a man can dream right?

Na, we just need more diversity so we don't look the same at the Halloween party.

Donno if this'll be suitable to the DA2 look, but some rogue female ideas, just for fun:
(Please don't quote with images as I am deeplinking from other sites
Sure this looks like it has 2 armor value, but looks hot :

The upper body shape, especially the pointy shoulders

Not particularly original, looks good on both male and female:

Layering? Examples of layered armor can be seen in FF 14 too.

Can you talk about this kind of thing, Mr. Gaider? Or have you even started doing stuff like designing armors?
I think asking Mr. Gaider about armor is a bit weird. He is the lead writer, not the lead designer.
I would think his job pertains to the narrative part.

methinks it would look nice on any class.
I'd 2nd the OP's wanting a customizable armor system, but w/ more variety than ME2.

Also, less ugly robes are a must. Seriously. Maybe mages can wear something stylish, like in Assasin's Creed. Those are technically robes but don't make me look like I've just washed myself in glitter.
