You know, one of the big problems I had with the rogue was the almost total lack of thief content.  Sure you had one guy in Denerim that gave out a handful of stealing and B&E quests, but most of those ended in you having to fight a group of baddies.  My sneak thief, with the high Stealth, Lockpicking, and Pickpocketing type skills never really got to feel like more than just another kind of fighter.  GIve us some purely solo stealth missions, assassinations, complex thefts, and combinations of the above - let the rogue really feel ... well, roguish.

Along the same lines, if we are allowed to become Bards, let us do some complex Diplomacy, Deception, Information Gathering, and yes even Story Telling missions.

In each case I'd love to see these classes get the chance to do missions which involve less combat and a little more subtlety and use of non combat related skills.

I know I'll probably never get to see a game on par with the DA series which actually allows me to play a Rogue to its fullest, as a central kind of character, but adding some content for those who enjoy that kind of game play would really be appreciated.

The lack of that was the only thing which disappointed me about Leliana's Song.

(before anyone asks, yes I have played the "Thief" games and loved them; I only wish you could have done more with Garret.)

I can get on board with this. It's easy to see situations like Tali's mission in ME2 included in DA2 - where diplomacy affects the game.

Yeah, I agree. For one thing, Crime Wave (starts in Denerim) had some of my favorite side quests because of the different ways you could complete them and because your skills impacted your ability to do certain things.

And in general I've always liked class-specific quests in games, be it strongholds in BGII or guild quests in Oblivion. They help immerse yourself in your character by putting in-game consequences for your decisions--in this case, class selection.

Gene Wolfe has a comment about how a good book can be read once and then be read again for further enjoyment. Generally, I like when games take this approach. If an RPG rewards you for replaying the game with a different class, for example, that's a good thing.

I second this. I'd like to be able to play a thief character that doesn't just feel like a dexterity-based fighter. The class-specific quests in BG2 were one of its highlights.

Not exactly on topic, but if anyone else likes playing thief characters and has NWN I strongly recommend the module Honor Among Thieves. It's a great example of how to do thieving in an RPG right - very little combat, lots of roleplaying options and well written.

"Honor Among Thieves" was an awesome module and did a lot right so far as thief adventures go.

And Toon, you are correct, but what I would like to see is more than merely an afterthought type side mission that takes almost no time to complete ... I would wish to see something a little more substantial that focuses on each of the non combat type classes.
