When I tried downloading the Darkspawn Chronicles and the Feast day DLC, it tells me I need patch 1.03. I'm playing DA:O on steam, but Steam never updated my game. How can I download the patch?

go to game library and right click on dragon age and there should be a "Update" button... if not look around on the steam game library page and try to find a Update button =).

There's no update button.
In "properties" under the "updates" tab, I have it set to "Always keep this game up to date."
I looked at the update news on Steam, and the latest Steam update mentioned was March 8th.. that was 1.02, right? I don't even see the news for 1.03.

*sigh* you were right... try uninstalling and reinstalling steam. If that doesn't work then something must be wrong with your computer.

The Dragon Age configuration program will show the version # installed. You can start it from the Dragon Age launcher program.

currently reinstalling to see if it fixes my crashing during battle when trying to cast as a mage, i wasnt too far into the game so it wont be a total loss, i sure hope it fixes, if not then 1.04 better :-/
on top of that i just bought Awakening and it made it all worse

it says I'm running 1.02. is there any way I can update the game from a source outside of Steam? I checked the Steam forums and everybody else seems to have patch 1.03.

Just uninstall the game and reinstall it. It should update properly then. Make sure you have the latest version of Steam installed, as well.
