This is about it. Origins was a fantastic idea, but it limited what they could do. By the nature of having such wildly different characters playing the same story, the characters themselves and their origins and histories were kind of marginalized in the effect that they could have on the game.Khayness wrote...
Multiple races are limitations for more immerse storytelling, therefore they had to go.
Again, anyone can disagree and say that they just imagined it all up and it was fine. But I think Bioware wants a bit more freedom to craft their narrative and they don't want to be held down by having to accomodate all races and backgrounds and what have you.
I think there's more freedom in having the 'player' choose than have bioware choose the character for us. I'd rather play as a character I created right down to the race in dragon age than be tied down to a specific thing. And that kind of worries me because it seems a bit like they want us to play as the character they've already made. I mean we get to change to look and gender but how much are we losing? But either way I'd like them to return the option for me to 'choose myself' what race I play as in future games even if I have to put up with these restrictions for this game.
