Am I completely screwed, or is there something I missed?

there is an underwater way somewhere on the juggernaut and arcane warrior quest level. You can use it to travel to werewolf lair. It's shown on your map when you are close enough.
So there should be some other exit? Hmm, I'll have to look for this then, hopefully all is not lost. >.>

The game keeps multiple Autosaves. Are you sure one of them isn't before the bugged section?
You can see those by choosing "load game" instead of resume.

Imagine today's gamer trying to puzzle out Ultima 3, or even Legend

You should definatly be able to get through to the lair. Press "M" (I'm sure you know this by now) and make sure you have explored everywhere, every side room, the passage will be shown on your map if you have been near it. You might not see it at first simply exploring, I missed it, but the map reveals all =)
Nope, still haven't found this exit. The room's a large hall, with the only visible exit the door on the south wall. Which is locked. If anyone knows of another exit, could you give me a location?

I was solving legend of Zelda puzzles ever since I was 4, I think another good example would be N64 Ocarina of time, try solving the Water Temple, without any guides..... you might want to get ready to bang your head against a wall a few times.
Keep looking for the entrance, it is easy to miss, but like someone else said, there is an underwater entry to the lair, its shaped like a square, if you cannot find it, then you do not need to be playing DA: O. Get your money back and say there is issues with the game, or grow some gaming brains, as ironic as that sounds, and find the entrance!!

Look, I think it's a glitch or something. It's the Lower Ruins, and I'm in the hall at the northeast of the map. There's only one exit to the room, and it's on the south wall. I didn't even walk through the door, and it's locked. Is the puddle in this room? Cause the problem is I'm stuck here in the room and can't go anywhere else.
Can you be a bit more discriptive than 'the hall?'
