Yeah yesterday I was completely up in arms. Today I'm a little more relaxed. My main concern is still having DA:O be relevant, but I'm finding ways that the dialogue wheel could work (if they implement it correctly).
The dialogue wheel is one of the worst elements of Mass Effect, and I say that as a fan of the series. Not knowing what your character will say is terrible. Not knowing how they will react is terrible. KNowing that "Upper right = good" and "Lower right = bad" and "Left = generic and meaningless" absolutely destroys any immersion in the conversations. You simply steer the character to "paragon or renegade" as you see fit, never really knowing what Shepard is going to say, and completely disengaged from the conversations as a result.
The wheel is awful.
I'd venture to say that you're quite a minority in that view. But of course, you are entitled to it.
As for this thread. Can't we all just get along?
Why does everyone who doesn't have a problem with the game insist on turning into such children and throwing tantrums every time someone doesn't like something that they are changing?
I'm really looking forward to DA2 and I'm actually excited for many of the changes. I just don't see the point in bickering like little kids. I know it's an impossible dream, but shouldn't this forum be about discussing the game reasonably and taking advantage of the fact that we actually get to interact with the folks at Bioware and have our concerns heard?

That our opinions don't perfectly mimic yours does not make us "unreasonable". That's pretty arrogant and actually pretty offensive.
I'M sick of listening to everyone who has a complaint be called "ignorant' "whiner" "moron" "******" "children" etc.
We have LEGITIMATE concerns based on confirmed information. One of those is the dialogue wheel, which has significant problems in ME2. There's nothing like having your character flat-out murder someone in cold blood when you only thought he was going to yell. That ruins the game immersion.
Having this opinion doesn't make us "ignorant" or "whiners".
Nor do I. Which is why I never used
any of the words you just quoted out...are you sure you meant to quote my post? Because if you read it again, you'll see I was not attacking you and was in fact wondering aloud why those who support the changes are so hostile to the negative opinions of others.
Despite being taken aback at first, I like what I've heard about DA2 so far, but have found the attacks on those who don't pretty childish. Though, if this is the way you respond to all attempts at beckoning reasoned discussion I can certainly understand their inclination...
