I would not put it past Bioware to ruin my Solo experience by forcing many characters on me.Metalunatic wrote...

LOL, hardcore gamers.
No pal, you're missing it. You can reject pretty much all companions from joining you and make them leave you later on. Bioware gives you various choices and this is one of them.

Well, for those quests where party members are forced on you, just hit H and leave them behind. In Awakening, for Velanna at least it was possible to move her out of party by not going into the silverite mine, but back to the Keep and dropping her.

Also I am not sure how that works with consoles....I doubt I could find some way to bypass.

Solo play should be damn possible. You were told that before.
I know that we both have probably different styles of playing but this is a Bioware RPG.
Solo loot-experience-dungeon-crawl grinding doesn't really work here like in Oblivion. Those recruitable NPCs are there for a reason.

Lone wolf = bullcrap
Everyone knows that wolves hunt in packs.
And that's probably why I don't really like loot and exp. grinding games like Oblivion.
Accccctually......Google the term "Lone Wolf" and youll find that it's not as bullcrap as you might think....Yes, Wolves DO typically hunt in packs...However, ever so often you get a "lone wolf"....And these Lone Wolves are FAR more dangerous fighting and hunting alone than they are in packs....They are more effecient when they are alone etc. etc. I just recently made this discovery myself about the Lone Wolf term....Again, do some research on the term and youll find it's not as BS as you might think
Edit: In fact, here's a wikipedia entry on the term

I hate having forced companions, but Origins was good about this. 10 companions in Origins, and 8 of them are optional, 2 are mutually exclusive. And if you really didn't want Morrigan around, she'd just leave and come back before the assault on Denerim. Yeah, you had to bring Alistair along, but if he bugged you, you eventually got to kill him too. The options with party interaction were great.
