Let me start by saying this game is truely epic. From the start and all the way through the story it grabs me. The story is just top notch and the choices you get are plenty. I want to just lay out my pros and cons to let bioware know what i did and did not like, and if you would like to reply and do so feel free.

Pros:

Story-
Increadible long, and detailed

Combat-
I have been waiting for someone to bring skill trees and mmo like game play to single player games. I am beyond happy they did this. The combat in Dragonage is the best i have played in any single player game.

World
The world has a nice balance between decently happy settings and dark and bleak. Just enough to take the game sirius and not get depreased doing it. (i thought the dwarf city was the most well done, and open)

Boss fights
In most games boss fights are just a easy monster thats bigger then the normal ones. This game gives the term Boss real meaning. You never just wounder up to a boss in this game with out checking the pots and getting ready to pause/play alot. I played the game on hard and it took me awhile to be able to kill a dragon.

Party AI
I thought you guys went above and beyound on the party AI. They could just stand around like most games , but they interact with each other. I as noticed i rarely hear them say the same thing twice to each other.

I have more pros as this game is so good but lets get to my 1 and only con.

Con

Not open world
You can say it is open world as you can go anywhere you want when ever you want. But this isnt really open since when you go to the wilds or outdoors you cant get off a path. I find my self walking down a road and if i try to walk around a tree it wont let me or in a puddle that is on the road it makes me walk around it? I really dislike games that will not let you move around freely in the area. I also hate how you go to a map to travel and you cant just walk to where you want to go. In games like oblivion most the time you just teleport to towns anyways. But its the option to walk around and kill stuff if you want that makes it fun. I really wish they would have let us enjoy the world outside the key areas.

This is the one and only con i have for this game. I love the game and it was worth my money i just wish the people who make games like this(fable 2) would stop and open the world up like fallout and oblivion. Even in assassins creed they let you walk between towns. There is no reason i should see a little drop of water on the road and have to walk around it when its less then 2 inches deep.

PS.   I like how you named the guy Duncan because thats my last name and thats what people call me lol. This was a decent selling point for all the duncans in the world.:innocent:

Open world like Oblivion is boring and I always used quick-travel when it became available.

I agree and i did to but its the fact you know you can if you want. Its not as much the map travel i hate as the fact that when you get on a map you cant move freely on it. I see water but i cant jump down in it. Or i see a tree but i cant walk around it? things like this take the real feelings away from you.

pro :

bioware game (include : amazing voice acting, very nice story, amazing lore, funny characters, huge amount of "social" options with your companions, nice music, very artistic place...)

con :

-no good/bad repercussion (like karma in fallout, or like in BG, mass effect...)

-some imbalance between classes

-most ends are sad. Yeah, this is not really a con, but i prefer good ending :D

Pros:

characters (Inc. VO and Interaction)

story

combat

musical score

Cons:

some graphical mishaps (e.g. the countryside when looking down from Ostagar)

I actuaully prefer no reputation system, just because you did something good or bad, chaotic or lawful does not mean everyone in the world should view you in the same light. Adds to the party dynamic and roleplaying aspect. Such as party management: who you choose to befriend and who's thoughts, feelings and opinions you might choose to disregard.

I've played many, many games since 2006 and I always end up going back to Oblivion because of the freedom it gives me.

Dragon Age is a fairly decent game, that's well polished. I could gripe about the obnoxious pedistal swing between difficulties, but I imainge that topic has been beaten to death. My only real problem with DA:O is that it doesn't have a sandbox environment. Eventually I will win the game, which will make my character progression (choices/levels) pointless. It makes having a toolset (in my opinion) a novelty, and it gives me little reason to come back and play in the future. Sure, I could run through all the origin stories, but they only have the slightest impact on replay value. It's two hours of you experiencing new content, and after that its the same storyline.

My idea of the "perfect" RPG would be Bioware voice acting and story teilling, mixed with Oblivion's sandbox, and Age of Conan's combat system. I digress, however. Dragon Age lived up to my expectations, decent storyline, engaging combat system and immersive voice acting.

Well, the pros are to many to list but here are my cons:

The rule set leaves you wishing for more depth.

Some talents and spells are repetitive.

Not enough weapon variety and difference.

Not enough armor difference.

Early levels look bad since they were the ones work on years ago.

i truly agree with all you said, i too like to be able to go anywhere and do anything, like morrowind (the best game ever made) it is a shame, but everything else about the game is top notch. this game feels alot like its older brother neverwinter nights, witch i truly enjoyed too - the biggest thing im glad about dragon age is the combat. im sooo glad they stuck with the tried and true 'dice rolls' combat. that is what makes it complete

Pros: Great Story, and very well developed characters.  Warrior armor is phenomenal!  Cutscenes are great!
Cons: No open world.  Collision and movement can seem clunky at some times.  No potions for stamina! /nerdrage!  Very limited gear for Mages and Rogues, and absolutely no diversity among the way their gear looks in comparison to the Warriors.  Basically the game needs more epic gear to obtain, want all my characters to look well... heroic!

Pros:

Story

Characters

Most of battle gameplay

Perfect challenge

(xbox gameplay)

- Not being able to issue "move command" to character

- Difficult to see who is targeted at a range

- Left trigger toggle should not unpause when selecting an ability

- The lack of tactical view/zoom out on console

- Difficult to track all combat events sometimes, i would love an option to turn on BG2 style battle messages in text

- The gameplay bugs (dagger dex etc)

- Having to be logged in to xbox live all the time when playing

I'm a sure there are a few more cons that i will remember shortly. All in all the game is great, one of the best i ever played, but if all those small (and they indeed are small to be honest) gameplay cons could be fixed the game would benefit a lot from it

Worthless troll, mass effect is on console and that game rocks.

You map travel in mass effect witch fits the game. It does not fit dragon age(i just wanted to point that out)

Con: Extremely limited number of armor models for cloth/leather, not much party flexability (you must have a healer and a tank, or challenging encounters rape you)

pro everything except for my one con

con: forced encounters. *slight spoiler below, but I left out names* There's a certain assassin type npc who will join your party if you defeat him. The problem is I knew it was an ambush by the way the woman came up said she needed help then ran away. Yet the game forces you into an ambush. What's up with that? How is that role playing? That's not giving me choices, it's forcing me into an encounter I don't want.

The biggest problem is the encounters. The game is fairly easy except for them. Those seem almost impossible. It forces me into a mage and healer party almost which I'm trying to avoid. I'd like a party that isn't "optimized", I don't want to bring an evil character such as Morrigan. I feel restricted in this way.

As I said, everything else rocks. Great job Bioware.

Pro: All that has been said + the bartender in Lotheringen had so many rumors I stopped asking after 20 times and he still didnt repeat himself.

Con: Max camera zoom view isnt mobile enough. The edge of the screen is blocked by your optionsbar and you can't turn the camera to look further ahead (have to zoom for that)

You can't change your characters looks while playing (well you can but not in an easy way) there isnt even a barbar

Mage clothing is ugly

Pros:

- I adore the character customisation and origins.

- Gay + lesbian romances. <3

- The combat is less awkward than I was expecting it to be.

Cons:

- Zevran/Leliana both feel under developed to me, like they were just thrown in at the last minute. If you took them out of the game, the story wouldn't be affected at all and that bothers me, considering they are my favourite characters. I romanced Zevran and his dialogue dried up before I'd even finished the first quest I did after obtaining him.

- Your origins does not affect the story as much as I was led to believe it would.

- Mages suck. Really badly.

- Lack of armour and clothing.

Overall, a good game marred by a couple of things unchanged since BG:
- Pathing is still pretty BG like, you get stuck on NPCs a lot.
- Monsters all behave exactly the same. All have the same visual range, same instant hostility, etc. Some variety between dumb animals and humanoids would be a start.
...and a new one from the 3D age:
- Textures poorly masquerading as real objects. The crowd in the proving arena made me cringe.

I dont see why this is trolling? Many games have suffered from also being developed for the console, in particular in regards to controls (the KOTR series springs to mind).

Luckily Dragon Age does not seem to have suffered at all, but i was certainly worried prior to its release.
