As the world of Dragon Age is so big, with so many countires, cultures, history, and lore and hopefully lots of future games, please consider making a guide book to Thedas. Not a guide/strategy book to play a game, just a guide book of the world for reading fun. Perhaps it could have a map of the world, give details about history, talk about creatures/animals that live in Thedas....I know it's probably too soon to do something like that, but I really like this new universe and would love to learn more about it. I know you would probably want to make more games for it first, but I think it would be a nice collectors book to have for fans. I'd also really love the map of Thedas. One of my favorite things about older games was the nice huge map you would get in the game. I still have all of the old BG maps. So as someone that really loves the world of DA and enjoys reading the codex entries if you plan to release DA games and keep this new world you have created for many years please consider this for the future.
Thanks.

The complete works of Genetivi would be neat too.

Yes, that could even be the "author" of the guide book:)

The collectors edition for DA:O had both a summery of the worldhistory starting with the foundation of the Tevinter imperium, a very detailed timeline for Ferelden and information to other nations and races of Ferelden. It is about 60 pages and a fascinating read. For those of you that don't have it I hope that maybe one day that extra content gets released as separate book.

Oh I wish I would of known that, I so would of gotten the collector's edition. When DAO came out and during all the marketing for it , I I was taking on a gaming hiatus due to working fulltime and going to grad school. All I had known about DAO when it came out was just what I saw on the commercials and I didn't realize what a great game it was . ... or how rich the world and lore were. I didn't even know that it was made by Bioware at the time. It was only through word of mouth and recommendations that I picked it up after hearing how awesome it was, so I just got the regular edition.
I wish someone would of told me about the game sooner...oh well thats the way life goes,...three cheers to hoping for a future Thedas guide coming in the future to a bookstore near youB)

Not that, his post was in the wrong thread.
He wrote about companions.

Now that I am rereading my thread maybe I do need to move it ....I was thinking about future games and additional lore would create a want for a new book but I guess that doesn't mean DA2 thread, oh well, maybe the mods could nicely move it for me to a more suitable forum?

Very sweet idea. In the DAO origin, the Codex plays a big role in piecing together all the background cultures and mysterious facts. In the designers shoes, Codex entry mainly acts as a trophy of adventure. I think it is more considerate and more fascinating that after finishing part of adventure, the game system could print out a draft guide book(maybe pdf format is better). The more you investigate and involve, the more details will be displayed on this customized and unique guide book.
