 With all this talk about female Qunari and what not, I was wondering if we'd ever get to see those illusive creatures everyone mentioned in DA:O.

I think they were called "Horses".

Looking back it is kind of surprising that there were no horses. I can understand not having anyone riding a horse... but the Halla and various other non-hostile creatures were in the game environments so t'is strange that horses didn't make atleast a brief appearance.

At least you could have thought of a less unreal creature. A griffon for example.

Orlais has horses, Ferelden has dogs. Apparently. Maybe Fereldens just run really really fast and thus don't need horses?

Riding around on dogs is a lot cooler than riding on horses, though.

Horses were limiting a more immersive story telling experience, therefore they were never implemented. And were removed afterwards nevertheless.

I'm confused as to how the trip to Rivendell from Gondor was so simple, yet the trip to Gondor from Rivendell was impossibly hard.

I thought this was common knowledge... All horses was locked up because the darkspawn are drawn to them...

There's no horses because the Griffons ate them all to extinction.

Being the only source of the Griffon's food, the Griffons soon died out as well.
