Personally i find the whole notiion of DA-2 a step to the  side as its a different style, not any better or worse really.   Ive played many games that you are the main character and many are truely wonderfull..  theif deadly shadows, and dues ex are just a couple.  Both of these games i would call clasic RPG's that what you did you felt in control of it, and made choices that effected outcomes, (while less in some cases than say BG, still an rpg at heart. Both where voiced characters.

Will it be what i wanted? I dunno, im sure like every other RP title you have made i will buy it and play it and love it to some extent or another, even neverwinter nights made me smile from time to time but it was still worth my investment.

I do hope you continue to keep DA-O going, New expansions, New epic stories, and perhaps even going less on the production costs and *gasp, I know..   Just make everything read only dialoge..   You have said many times yourselfs that voiced dialoges are huge production costs and i get that..  But perhaps reusing area's and skimping on voiced dialoges you can get production down low enough to make a 10-15 dollar DLC expansion.  Give us 25-50 hours of story,, and endless on replays. Give us the old school feel.. open choices the option of which way do i go next, with a side story running in the back ground.  sorta like the whole game before chap 6 in BG1.

BG didnt need everything voiced..  a few key character banters, or quest parts speach gave us enough to know who the character was. We dont need every word spoken to us..

...   ohhh whooo,,  Who are you...?   wha'ts that booo?  Ohh boo like you.....

Are you talking to a hampster??

From that moment on, I knew exactly who minsc was, he never needed to speak again.  then again im not gonna lie..  hearing minsc say,  "go for the eyes boo, go for the eyes !"  was half the reason i would have him in my party..  that and to really ****** off edwin.  Posted Image

Im just saying, many of us that love the game, would love more of it. We dont need new interfaces and new options or a  new game engine.  Great game play we have.  Now all we need is a new story.  I know id be buying a new expansion every 6 months to a year if you gave it to me.. even if it didnt have a lick of voice.

I gotta admit, im looking for replacement RPGs to take my dollars.

Im really not impressed with the whole DLC concept even though I was one of the early people spouting off how great it could be!

Its sadly just not worth the money.

Companies seem to think DLC is a ticket to print money and where as you pay $70.00 for 70 hour game, with DLC is very common to pay $7.50 for a 3 hour game or less.

The dollar value just isnt there.

I just paid for Leliannas song and while fun 1 time through, it has zero replay value and was again way to short.

Reminded me alot of ME2 to be honest.

Overly linear, no freedom, short missions that were over to fast.

No thanks

What I think im going to probably do is find a MMORPG and just pay the monthly fee to play there and screw single player games completely till companies get over this rut they in and start designing for the player again!

Gatt has a few good posts about the upcoming market crash in computer gaming and why. Seems companies have forgotten selection is key to success.

Maybe it's just a rumor but in the 'What do we know so far' thread, theres a mention about DLC and maybe even an Expasnion will come out for DA:O before DA2

Another awakening type expansion?  *shudder*,  think I will pass this time, paying near full price for a fraction of a game that doesn't have anything that I loved in the first one was the biggest rippoff bioware did to me.  It did teach me to be weary of bioware games and don't accept them on faith.  I guess that lesson was worth it I suppose.

I wouldn't mind another expansion, though I could do without more of the recent dlcs that are completely separate from origins. I want more stuff to do with my warden, not some quick, linear, hack and slash adventure with little to no replay, and where my warden can't take part.
