it's a simple enough question, but the answer is one I can't seem to find, I've read a few posts from David Gaider, and put a few posts together from forum users that suggest things have been canonised.
If we go on the theory that choices in mass effect 1 changed mass effect 2, but there was also a "canon" story, why can't there be a similar set up in DA2?
Considering the game starts from just after the battle of Ostagar and has 10 year timeline, the chances of us meeting characters from Origins is a strong possibility. Sten and Leliana being the 2 prominent figures there and a lot can happen in 10 years, so the chances of meeting other characters would be possible.
So I'll get to the point, is there any reason why we can't import our saved game from the end of DA:O to import all of the major decisions in to DA2?
This will be things such as the wardens race, gender, companion history, what happened in orzammar, if Loghain died etc..
OR am I just being extremely hopeful that they'll cater to those of us who played Origins about 10 times through for the perfect storys
So will my choices from DA:O / DAO:A affect DA2?

I did the ultimate sacrifice in DAO and due to the fact that the decisions of my warden couldn't be carried over to Awakening because of this, I haven't bought Awakening yet.
I thought about loading up a save game and doing the dark ritual so that I can play Awakening. But I think I'd only do that if the decisions of Awakening will be carried over to DA 2, too.
I loved the US-ending. I think it is the most fitting ending to DAO and it would pain me to have to swap it for the dark ritual.
Another question nags at me, will the US-ending be carried over to DA2?
Other than that, I have to say that I can't wait to play DA2. I don't have a problem with Hawke having a predefined name and race, as the story will benefit from this, for sure. I also like the ME2-style dialogue wheel. So I am really excited about the game, if only the import questions could be answered.
