After the release of the toolset, which was a success to a degree and given the new style of gameplay Bioware are saying the game will have, will this game be as moddable as DA:O do you think?

Of course, it uses the same engine as DA:O.

Isn't Bioware sort of the maker...:?

Lol.I hope They do not do anything to destroy the current Mod community.

Rather them not release the toolset i think as it may seperate and destroy them.

I just hope there'll still be the ability to add custom armour, weapons, and NPC faces.

Some mods made DAO more enjoyable. NPC redesigns(some npcs were quite ugly), proportion fixes etc.

Other than if they do decide to release the updated Toolset, they said it would be long after the release of Dragon Age 2.

My guess is they wont release the toolset right away if ever? Why?

DLC + Promotions.

There's less incentive to buy all their stuff if you can download a lot of stuff for free, sometimes being even better than Bioware stamped dlc.

The game will be moddable, whether a toolset is ever released or not. And there were lots of non porn-related mods on danexus... Added textures, change Lel and Morrigan to CGI appearance, custom colors/hair, community fixes, etc.

Bioware said once that there aren't any proofs that a toolset diminishes the dlc sales in any way.

Moddable in certain sense yes, but without a toolset it will be difficult/time consuming to get actual content in there.

Look at Mass Effect 2, sure it had mods, but they were minor mods compared to what we have In Dragon Age: Origins? Why? No toolset...

Really? Then it's curious why Mass Effect/2 didn't have it considering a lot of UE3 games ship with the SDK for modding?

Ahhh completely ****ed up the quoting, hope you can still make it out :P

I didn't say as many mods or to the same degree. But I guarantee to you, if some talented person wants to change something in DA2 and they have the time to do it, it will be done. Whether it is ever shared, or whether it happens often was beyond the scope of my comment.

While I'm certainly a staunch supporter of modding in general, I'm even more interested with the other aspect of being able to mod the game. If Bioware were to give us core game resource to DA2, then we will again be able to patch the game for them so speak. If it weren't for community fixes, I probably would have been too disgusted by the sheer number of bugs/glitches/non-functional scripts to even finish the game in the first place.

Of course, but don't come and tell me Mass Effect 2 wasn't popular enough to warrant a thing like this, yet it never happened.
I know people want to hang on hopes that people will eventually crack the game if it doesn't come with toolset, but seriously, it's a far fetch hope.

You mean the same thing they did with the last game, which had mods?

I don't know much about ME2, but was there already a modding community in existence from ME1?  Do you think that might make a difference for DA2?
