I think this is probably the first and most important project developers can take in in regards to DA:O.
Basically after you complete the main quest you can actually return to the character that completed it under a hazy timeline assumption of the events occuring in that play session occurred "before" the completion of the main quest.
This is fine and gives a fair starting point but, all content except DLC content is cut off.
What really needs to be done is a re-enablement of all traversable areas in the game, and a respawn mod that repopulates these areas so you can develop characters a bit more or just simply go back to areas where you didn't finish quests "Chanter Boards/Irregulars Quests" and do them, or just basically go back to dungeon areas you've already been to and kill your way through them again on various difficulty levels for the challenge.
Overall I think this is really the first and most important mod that needs to be developed, so the world opens back up to characters that have completed the main quest.

I have to agree, this would be a good thing. In fact, I'd like a mod to respawn some areas during the game.

I am working on an extended mod that sorta picks up when the OC ends. If everything works out you should, in theory, be able to go back and visit any areas and quest you might have missed in the past. Though I can't say for sure until we make it to that stage and do some testing.
There might be some issues where the OC disables some places depending on what stage of the OC you are at. Not really much we can do about that without breaking other parts of the game. Something that I do not want to do or mess with at this time.
