Why are people getting angry with Bioware?

1) we have a set character known as hawke which means he is human and we can't play other races.
2) Our character will have a voice, therefore the game is ruined.
Hell i don't see the problem with DA2, an entirely seperate game starting with a new character and having our decisions imported. The witcher was a fantastic RPG, but i see no one crying that you can't play as a dwarf in that game.

Perhaps because being a dwarf was never an option in The WItcher. That would make too much sense though, it has to be because anyone who doesn't like what little bit has been released about DA2 so far is just a whining little baby.

That's because the Witcher isn't Dragon Age. It does not have the same expectations of vast customization that Dragon Age has. You're comparing apples and oranges.
Destroying the vast level of customization, with the origins being the heart of the customization, is very bad for the series. You should never ever step the level of customizability down in a game's sequel. It is never met with joy.
Imagine if Baldur's Gate 2 had forced you to play as a human illusionist mage that was lawful evil and you could never change it. Reviewers would savage the game for it. Yet htey gladly accept the single character you are forced to play in Planescape: torment. This is because they are different series. Part of what sold Dragon Age, and part of what people loved, was the return to "old-school" rpg's. The return of vastly customizable characters was wonderful.
The Origins were not an element of the story, they were an element of customization. In any other RPG you would pick your race and it would say "elf" on your character sheet and that would be it. Sure, it's nice to play as an elf, but there is no context.
The Origins vastly enhanced this decision by giving history and context to these choices. You aren't just "generic dwarf #345" you actually had a backstory behind this decision.
So now they have gone from a vastly customizable game, to an extent most RPG's can't even hold a candle to, and instead are stripping of the game of all customization save for gender and class. Gone are the choices of race. And most importantly: Gone are the origins.
That, more than anything, cripples DA2.

I don't think he got any point. Maybe people don't like to complain for no reason. Maybe the complaints (streamlining and rushed content) people were going on and on about were based on a legitimate fear. Perhaps in the future, posters like yourself won't be inclined to automatically dismiss any negative opinion about a game set to be released.BallaZs wrote...

In seriousness though, I'm not trolling. I'm just making a point. DA2 is by no means a terrible game, but alot of the complaints people were having before it was released ultimately turned out to be true. People who hosted complaints got accussed of trolling.
