What version of the game do you have? The original 1.00 version had lots of problems with single core systems. (And do realize you are below spec on that processor there, though that's not to say the game should be crashing.)

I'm having a problem finding my saved game from Mass Effect 1. I'm playing it through steam I looked around and I found on some forum that it should be something like MassEffectSave but I can't find it in the Mass effect 1 folder I even had the computer look for it and it couldn't find it either. Is there something I'm missing or just not looking in the right spot because of steam? And yes I do have a saved files from that game I have 3 of them.

masseffectsaves.com has it listed as:
{installation drive:}\\users\\{username}\\My Documents\\bioware\\Mass effect\\save
So, it is in your My Documents folder, wherever that is.
Helpful info here, with info about using "finished" characters and whatnot: http://www.masseffec....com/import.php
