Will we be able to roleplay evil wizard types of characters proparly?

I prefer playing powerfull evil wizards palpatine style however:

1) You feel kinda forced into being the "Hero", easy way to fix this is to grant some personal gain from the main plot.
2) The first game felt intended for a warrior or rogue. Allthough i liked the mage origin the box art, trailers and ingame in general gives a "feel" that you are supposed to be a warrior. I think some times you are even refered to as "champion" "warrior" and such things.
3) Very many games are horrible depicting "evil" type characters. ME2 is a good example. The game makes you look more like a brutish thug than a smart calculating cold bastard.

We need to be able to use and manipulate people with charisma, and have personal gain as motivation for the story.

For example if a villager comes running and says "please help, my village is under attack" i want my character a reason for caring in a way that benefits him.

Ive read the game is gonna be epic and a "Rise to power" which im glad to hear! Im just hoping ill be able to become a tyrant and not be forcebly labeled as a hero.

Edit: What ofcourse is brilliant is that you dont really need to add THAT much more dialogue. Ofcourse an evil character would say "Ofcourse ill help!" What people say and what people think are completely different things :D

I hope they add better mage robe so you can better play the part.

Nothing says evil power hungry blood mage like a bright yellow circle robe.

Mm, I remember my character promised Anora to support her at the Landsmeet, and after Loghain was beheaded they locked her in a tower.

I definitely want more of such moments. Where you can ally with a character, use him and when he's no longer needed - kill him. Or even better, use for maximum profit - sell as a slave, or as meat.

Imagine how it would have been... Your mage burns brother Genativi alive and then sells his ashes as Andraste's, 20 sovereigns for a pinch.

More scheming, Dwarven-style politics would also be nice, except instead of supporting someone, being the scheming, Magnificent Bastard.

I agree with much of what you said OP.

I also agree that we need better robes, and mage hats. The hats in DAO are rather terrible looking, imho.
