No DA:O fan finds the scenes in the game offensive.
We find them cheesy to the point where we'd rather skip them.

I don't know how I could stress this enough. Please don't do any more love scenes like in DA:O. They were worse than ME 1. I mean Jade Empires scenes were better. Something like Jade Empires love scenes would be much more acceptable than DA:O. If you have love Scenes like in ME 2 is fine just please avoid the jacob and well. Yeah, no soft porn with jazz music feel to it. Its just wrong! Don't mind the shirtless. Nothing wrong with a little skin for the ladies. Also there are ways to move the camera around the females body so you don't see her nips. This way you can avoid Fox news. Hmmm.*cough* Anyway, I think keeping the love scenes P-13 is find just no cheesy weird stuff like DA:O. Please no more!
Jade Empire?
You do realize Jade Empire had NO love scenes at all, unless your definition of a love scene is 2 characters sharing a kiss.
ME1 was the first Bioware game that actually had a love scene.
As for the rest of your post, that is the matter of taste. I found love scenes in ME1, ME2 and DA:O to be perfectly fine. They were all done in a tasteful manner.
Also, DA is supposed to be a dark fantasy epic geared towards more mature players (as it's rating label clearly proves) and, unless there've been some changes in that regard we aren't aware of, I would expect DA2 to be the same.
oh, yeah I see. I see, so your saying you want Topless covered and blood and lots of grinding. Oh with different angles and no crouch. YEah, this just screams epic here.
And what exactly did you find so offensive about love scenes in DA:O, ME1 or ME2 for that matter?
I clearly didin't see a massive protest from people who played the game about any of the stuff you mentioned because they knew it would be there.
Do I expect to see blood when I cut someone down with a sword? Yes, because the same thing would happen in real life.
Do I expect to see a sex scene when a a female npc invites my character to her bed? Yes, I do.
How it's going to play out is up to game developers. I have no problem with it if it's done in a tasteful manner and not demeaning to either characters. Especially since it's entirely optional and you can simply refuse to participate if it offends you for any reason.
DA is about mature themes that some people may not be able to deal with, either because they find them to be unacceptable or are too young to handle them. That's why ratings exist and why you always have a choice to decide if something appeals to you or not.
If it doesn't then that's fine, but don't be naive and expect the devs to change things based on your personal opinion. Especially when that opinion may not match that of the majority.
Critics, fans, options and all of it matters. Improving on a product is something which we suggest, but to ask for something which will be put in the media again and get some stupid parent who has a cow because they see a blue woman with her butt showing getting all worked up is just silly. I see why Bioware refused to do the ME 1 scene again. I mean I loved it and its why I still own the game, but you have to see from their prespective as well. Sense you want to talk about opinions. I was stating making the love scenes could have been done with more taste and less silliness. Who knows what they were thinking unless someones got an interview I can look at and actually a lot of media though it to be cheesy. Hense the title so why not have cheesy and instead of tasteful. Its no big deal to have a passionate kiss and then fade to black. We don't need sex in a game to make it sell. Well you can have the sex. I mean mass effect 2 had lots of itl. Miranda's butt, JAcks nips!. I mean its there, but it doesn't have to be in the love scene.

The point I'm making is that despite what some news channel served, ME2 didn't drop sex scenes completely. They moddified them to be less "explicit" (though we could argue what made scenes in ME1 explicit to begin with...). DA:O is a prime example that if Bioware feels something has a place in their game for whatever reason, then it going to be there. They'll warn you in advance of what you'll find there but after that it's your problem, not theirs.
As far as I'm aware (feel free to prove me wrong if I am) DA:O never suffered any kind of backlash in the media. There were never any lawsuits against Bioware because of the content in the game itself, nor do I remember it being banned anywhere. The game had the best launch in Bioware's history. If Bioware, as the developer, feels certain content should be included then it's their call. I'm not saying they won't change it to be "less silly" as you put it, but I don't believe they'll remove it completely either, especially since nothing so far gave them reason to do so.

ANYTHING would be better than the ME2 love scene with Garrus. I did not endure all that awkward flirting and calibrating just for a head bump. I thought DAO did it really well and ME1 was a little shocking!

You can't endure the flirting but you could endure the bass-awkward sex scenes in DA:O.
That's it, I'm out. I'll just skip scenes and facepalm as needed when the game comes out.

Miranda was fine and Jacob the worst. Though honestly, it was more due to how his character was written in ME2 and because of really cheesy dialogue lines. Personally, I really liked how he was portrayed in ME:Galaxy so feel that they completely messed him up in ME2.

Oh I'm sorry, I wasnt aware you were the voice of all 3.2 million DA:O players.
I for one certainly won't pretend to speak for every DA:O player out there, especially since I have no idea what each of them thinks about this subject.
But I'll concede to you sir if you can actually get 3.2 million people to come on this forum and agree with you.

Just look at Mass Effect 1, you're naked, but at the same time it doesn't show too much. (I'm speaking from femShep point of view anyway since I never saw maleShep) it just does a side view and arms and legs are in the way of their business. I thought that was done pretty well. I was kind of surprised to see how silly Origins/ME2 love scenes looked in comparison, but I guess Fox news kind of scared Bioware out of making decent sex scenes. *shakes fist at Fox news*

The problem was the full body scan of the side view and the standing part. I think that is one of the reasons. They cut it. Now if you had. Lets say morrigan on top, but you only see her right shoulder and some of her back. Then you have another angle with the male on top holding and then kissing her. I could see this happening in a very nice, romantic type of way. The problem is I didn't really see a lot of kissing. I mean yeah you see them getting close, but a think it would be better for a quick make out involved. Actual lips touching. I think its more romantic in the long run.

Agreed. I enjoy the romances, It adds to the immersion. The love scenes are a part of that. And after all the blood, can partially clothed bodies really be that offensive to anyone?
(don't get me wrong, I am fine with the blood. I'd be fine with nudity too, though it really doesn't matter either way to me

Not to mention this is supposed to be a mature game, if it has gore and romances, even sex in it, I don't see why they they have to censore themself by keeping nude bodies out. In my opinion it could even serve as nice strategy/story element, to sneak upon an enemy having sex and end it, both the act and his life, preferably in their own stronghold, without anyone noticing it in time.Nerys wrote...

I thought the sex scenes in Origins were tasteful myself. Granted I'm mainly thinking of the Alistair one and the Zev+female one but I thought they were both in-character and the Alistair one was very sweet (I feel like they did a good job of conveying how he felt there. It came across as "making love" for sure). Now, the ME sex scene was more elegant and artistic, I thought it handled full nudity beautifully and the lighting effects were great. I wish Fox News wasn't so...Fox News-y about it. Ugh I have a truckload of grievances with those people but that's another topic.
Anyway the sex scenes aren't the reason to pursue a romance or even the most satisfying part of one but I do think they add to it and I'd be sad to see them go. I didn't think they were terrible in Origins but there's always room for improvement.
Also I don't think the underwear is so bad looking but having it worn in a sex scene *is* very silly.
