I don't have a decent PC, so I'll just go for Fable 3.

snfon... I LOVE your profile pic.

And I'm currently typing this on a Pavilion DV5 (good configuration, mind), so I doubt I'll buy any of those games on the PC. I don't like what I've heard of The Witcher 2's voice acting, Geralt's voice just sounds a bit... weird, I guess. Still, I've read the books that have been translated, definitely picking up The Witcher regardless of the voices. Again, I'll probably be proven wrong, but I'm massively pumped for Fable III. It's just put so much stuff into the formula... I've not doubt it works, the question is whether it ends up in the game. For example, they've removed pause menus. The pause button sends you to your mansion, where you can change or survey the map and your quests. You'll have a butler who suggests stuff to wear, offers advice, etc. They've also done away with all visible stats, and (apparently) your physique will be affected by what weapons you use. Fable and Dragon Age are two very different RPGs; one is a lot more freeform and about life, choices and customisation. The other is about telling a dark, moving story full of choices. Only thing they have in common is the choices.

Dragon Age 2's a must buy for me anyway- too hooked on the story not to get it. As for its main rival, I'd say that, in terms of hype, it's Fable. We haven't seen enough of The Witcher to make a judgement.

the witcher 1&2 are PC exclusives... ahem Bioware take note!!!

The first game was yes but the sequel is confirmed to release on PC, 360 and PS3.

Negative ghost rider... check the witcher forums

Alright must of misread a quote but you can bet it will be coming as releasing just on the PC just isn't feasible anymore because of all the pirates.

WTF does piracy have to do with the current topic???

A lot actually, by rivarly I mean which will sell more and to sell a lot of games you need to release it on multiple platforms and because PC games are so prone to piracy that means sales will take a major hit on that platform because of it.

Arrrg! Pirates beware! Ye woman will break up with thee if game be pirated!

Anyways, I pick Fable 3.

Actually... I'd like to present another potential rival. Deus Ex 3. I know it's strange, but it'll certainly have RPG elements, and, like Dragon Age, the driving force there is the story. Any thoughts guys?

Witcher 2. It is the only game series as far as RPGs go in recent years that can compete with Bioware, in fact, in some respects it's even ahead of Bioware.

I'm also hugely anticipating Deus Ex 3 but i don't consider it an RPG, it's more a hybrid.

wish people would show DX's new protagonist some love though. First comments I saw on the CGI trailer were all "WTF he sounds all gravelly and badass, that means he's generic, I'm not buying this now."

I, for one, really like his voice. I'd like Elias Toufexis to voice male Hawke, actually.

I trust both Lionhead Studios and CD Project Studio just began to cry when they heard about the announcement of DA2 released on the same time frame of their games.....

Fable 3 will be out this year, DA2 next year. So I'm pretty sure the folks at Lionhead Studios don't give a crap about it.

Agreed. Lionhead & MGS are aiming at a different market, and CDProjekt RED & Atari (it's a K, not a C) don't have the overheads EA BioWare have, so they aim for smaller profits and sales numbers. You have to remember Wiedzmin/The Witcher managed 1m sales, which isn't incredibly high but for a studio of their size, with a Polish IP unknown in most of the world, that's an incredible number for their debut release.

Wiedzmin 2, IMHO, will be in a completely different league to DA2.

I'd say Witcher 2, even if I love Fable series.

But I'd buy DA2 instead of these 2.

wow... too many serious people here... lol.. I was just kiddin'

what I was meaning is just that FOR ME there isn't any comparison between them. My first choice will be always Dragon Age, no matter what will happen...

Fable sucks balls and the Witcher had it's fair share of flaws. Dragon Age was better than both. Unless this turns into super linear Mass Effect fantasy land, it should easily better those games.

I'd have to say Witcher 2 its far more like this type of RPG. Though Fable has its appeal to a very specific audience, I like the game because its a little more light hearted in some instances than others. but I don't thing Fable 3 is a rival as much as a counter part. People who like this game will probably not necessarily like Fable 3 and vise versa, but I see a little rivalry between Witcher 2 and this one yes.
