They'll never promise to people they won't ever change..
On the contrary, I remember them saying more than once on this forum that people shouldn't expect the game to remain the same, and so for the story and the characters, they told that Dragon Age was an "open" game for different stories and different settings, therefore I am not disappointed, not even surprised because this game is what they prepared us for..

If people didn't hear them or didn't believe them who is guilty?

Seems cruel to offer one way then go in the complete opposite in the second iteration doesn't it?

Yes it is.. But it was far worse if they did this thing without inform anyone in advance...

The Witcher 2 definitely. TW1 was a really great RPG game. Fable series is..... okay I guess.
I'm definitely buying both DA2 and TW2 though, no way I wanna miss either of them.

Well developed games with loyal fan bases don't need to worry much about piracy, or at least they can still turn a sizable profit. I personally don't know anyone my age that doesn't "demo" before they buy... that being said they all have enough disposable income that they DO go out and support developers that make games they enjoy. The companys that do have to worry about it are the ones that are just trying to exploit people for a quick buck, which is why EA for one has had so much trouble with it.

You make a good point but then that is probably the reason game publishers give for porting the games to a console, poor PC sales.

Porting games to other systems does not mean poor sales. It actually usually means the opposite, the game sold well so why not make more money on another system. In TW2 debut trailer they said TW1 sold over 1.5 million copies on PC alone and apparently it exceeded their expectations and now they are hoping to bring the game to a new audience on consoles.
Besides there are a lot of games being ported from consoles to PC... does that mean that those games had poor sales on consoles and now they want to release them on PC in hopes of selling more? No it just means that they want their games to be available for a broader audience.

Also my bad on DP :pinched:

I played the Fable (1) it was ok. The Fable 2 was a ball. I am not to thrilled with the Fable 3. Having to buy Kentic.

You won't have to buy Kinect to play Fable III. If it's part of the game at ALL, it'll be a minor, optional part.

The Witcher > DAO > Fable

I doubt Fable 3 will be better than DA2 or Witcher 2, however we'll have to see which is better between DA2 and Witcher 2

However, DA2 will undoubtedly sell much more than Witcher 2, since EA will push a bigger marketing and DA2 will be for consoles too. Dragon Age is much more known than Witcher

Dungeon Siege 3 is nothing like DA2.

Yep because Obs is nothing like Bio. They don't make story driven/character focused games. They make Pong.

*lol* So you think they'll make a story driven/character focused game out of a Diablo clone? Because that's what Dungeon Siege 1 and 2 were, Diablo hack&slash clones.

EA will also buy positive reviews. i think it's common knowledge that gaming magazines and gamespot take money in return for favorable reviews.

that is also true for the opposite, I heard that some companies paid good for getting drasticly bashing previews for Alpha Protocol published

I'm sure that had absolutely nothing to do with how horrendously buggy it was but yeah regardless of anything else, I still enjoyed AP's story and choices you could make.

Sad to see how confident many of us were in regards to DA2.

Dungeon Siege III will have a stronger story then both TW2 & Fable. Obsidian have better writers then CDP and LH.

Hehehe... xD
