I have an older system.  I am able to play Dragon Age: Origins but want to make sure that I will be able to play DA2.

Does anyone know if the system requirements on the PC will change?

Hasn't been stated yet. It's using the same engine though so I don't imagine it will be a steep increase in terms of reqs.

Depends on how stylized they go with their graphics, they could overboard with it and increase the specs by a lot or barely touch it.

YEah, I hope they don't have the crash problem like they do with Origins. I'm still waiting for the latest patch!

I hope not. I can play at high settings, so let's keep it that way.

Are you sure they're using the same engine? I mean, that would make sense, but I haven't heard anything about that.

I hope that some optimization like ME2 is in order.
The second ME ran actually 30% faster then the first one!

Yes, for the PC version at least.  If you want to use those leaked screenshots as a basis of what they are working towards,   it looks like they have been tinkering with textures a bit, so you might need a slightly better GFXcard/shaders if you could barely run the game before.  I imagine anyone who could run the game at medium to high settings before would still be able to do so though.

I love Dragon Age so I hope that the system requirements will allow me to play DA2. Looks like we will have to wait and see. However hearing that the same engine will be used definitely gives me hope.

You'd rather play with worse graphics at high settings than improve the graphics and maybe have to set your PC to medium settings?

I was promised loading screens showing where I was going. I never saw any. I demand my loading screens!

This is my main hope as well, hopefully the massive memory leaking/threading/whatever the hell it was issue the engine had in DAO will be fixed.  I'd take that over imporved texturing any day.

Expect the requirements to increase. It's rather rare that a sequel's specs don't seem to increase (The HL2 episodes required more and more power, BS2 needs more than BS1, ME2 recommends more than ME1 IIRC etc).

I doubt they'll go up by too much, but if you're playing the game at high now, I would suspect that little will really change.

Yeah I am worried about this. I upgraded my video card so I could play DA:O. While I can run DA on high so I am not too worried it would suck to have to upgrade again. DA games might start costing me around $200 each lol.

My computer will hit 3 years old in november and i can run DA:O at High setting /1600 resolution without AA.My only problem was the very long loading and memory leak problem.

In march my computer will be 3 years and 4 month old.My computer getting a bit old sadly and i might have time to upgrade.Anything higher than 3 years for a computer it's old. Anything older than 5 it's very old and anything older than 7 it's neanderthal.

LOL, I was right for doubting your reading comprehension.

All I said was I hope the system requirements don't change. I never said I wanted the same graphics.
