Mass Effects story is better then Dragon Age's thus far and a hundred times more original.

Say what you will about game play and dialog, but that is the truth.

Sure it has a whole Babylon 5 feel to it, but DAO is a generic story that has been done 100 times over.

I'm sorry but when did opinion become fact?

I love ME but it's about as original as Santa Claus. Blade Runner/Star Wars and about a dozen other references.

Easily when there are a hundred fantasy RPGs all following generally the same pattern of elves, dorfs and humans versus an evil army.

Space RPGs on the other hand are pretty damn rare.

While I didn't enjoy DAO story, saying ME story was original is a laugh.

Lol Saying Mass effect's story was original is win. Saying It's better than DAO's is another thing.
Really elfs? Dragons ? ohhh.
Humans and aliens and a super alien race trying to destroy the galaxy is nothing new either really, so prepare for a thread lock down for it has no purpoise except for you trying to prove somethign which you fail miserably at

I didn't say it was original.

I said it is more original then the "dorfs, elves and humans vs an evil army" cookie cutter fantasy rpg.

Bioware alone has followed that formula 5 times before DAO.

1) Opinions are never facts, no matter how factually based.
2) There is literally no reason for this thread to exist.

Em, no. You don't read sci-fi books, especially classic ones. One of the most common stories is ancient race, that left an artifact in order to destroy humanity in the future. Told many times. Hell, you DO realize that Reapers & citadel keepers are both rip-off of Clifford Saimak's "The Goblin Reservation", right? But instead of hive minds that act like machines they decided to go with machines (Reapers).

Overall I consider Mass Effect series garbage and stand by my opinion.

I can play this game too.

DAO is simply a derivative of a derivative of a derivative.

DAO is the common denominator of the Tolkien Universe crossed with Dungeons and Dragons crossed with Baldur's Gate.

Many of the truths we cling to in life depend greatly on our own point of view....

Both genres are well established. Its hard to be original in either of them. But quite honestly, when I heard such terms as 'the blight' and the 'dark spawn' I cringed. How dreadfully familiar.

Fantasy authors need to get the hell away from Tolkein, as far away as they can. I hope Bioware writers do this for DA2.

Wait, so you're telling me that something based on a pre-existing genre came BEFORE something else based on a pre-existing genre?

HOLY CR@P.

No, what I am saying is that if you are going to call Mass Effect completely unoriginal, DAO is unorginal to the thousandth degree.
