I would like this idea of a new class we would have same voice acting for the class hes still a human.  Nothing changes a class along the lines of like melee combat and magic would work.  Not like arcane warrior melee like dual wield and still able to use magic.  A class native to the free marches that your charater learned when he went their.  A class that is able to summon those wolfs from the fade to aid them.  Like a shaman but does not have lyrium in their veins.  Someone who made a pact with the spirits of the fade to answer their call.  A shaman would use leather or plate mail.  Can duel wield.  They can heal so healing would be a choice for them magical combat is also a choice using the elements so casting aswell.  Or other people can name their very own classes in my thread.  Give a good discripion and a story behind them what armor weapons they use if they can use magic or not.  Here is a prime example of a shaman. 1.bp.blogspot.com/_wi42jssbjdE/SVh-V1pHkwI/AAAAAAAAAD8/HUNzEDGZfuM/s400/shaman-wallpaper.jpg heres another www.todowow.com/wp-content/uploads/wallpaper-thrall.jpg Also please post pictures of what you would want the class to look like i choose wow cause i would like it to be some what simalar to a shaman but not ripping it off completely.  I would draw a picture for you but im not good at drawing.

I don't see why they would do this, though I suppose its possible. The thing is, Warrior, Rogue, and Mage all cover the archetypical class-types. Further customizations and specialization is decided by the player by what talents, spells, items, and specializations they choose. I love this about Dragon Age.

Probably there will be tons of new talents and couple new specialisation (my guess is 4 new for each class)

I am already VERY sad about loss of races, I wouldn't be surprised if they now also get rid of some classes in the streamlining project

Posted ImagePosted ImageI feel the opposite. Since its more limited in regards to the player character, they can probably focus a bit MORE on classes, specializations, and talents.

You can be an archer, warrior, defender, templar, mage, warlock (in a way). Srs you can be a lot more than what you are opening your mind to.

The less classes the better. We had this discussion already before Awakening. Basically what people want is personalizing the character with skills and talents, classes just restrict that leading to BS like no light armored warriors, rogues can dual wield but are too dumb to use a single weapon properly or any other combination, mages can just use spells and are too dumb for anything else.

Less classes, more skills/talents and maybe a restriction for things like magic as background wise you are either born as mage or not.

Forget that antiquated D&D system... there has been developments in the meantime...

Please post some of your ideas about new classes here. I would like to read what you guys would want to see in game.

I have to agree: They cover the three main archetypes pretty well. Unless they changed an existing class, any gaps tend to be filled with specializations and choice.

Woah, woah. D&D is still the greatest thing ever. Well, except maybe 4, it's a bit too MMO-y....

agreed, every game copied DnD until DnD 4th edition, because that is just purely DnD copying WoW :(

I still like D&D's system a lot (not counting 4e) but I think Dragon Age was very intelligent in how it set up its class system. I like them both for what they are: two different systems that are both unique and functional.

GURPS is coping D&D? Or Elder Scrolls series? You mean Fallout? Ah, yes...

Sorry, but neither do I like "levels", nor that BS spells system, nor the "classes", even less the fighting system (strength to hit, armor to EVADE hits), nor anything else. D&D is horrible. Just those WOW crap coming now into pen & paper and other RPGs is even worse.

Sorry, but D&D was a nice start, but no way where games should be now, even less video games.

As already mentioned, DA:O gave you all those classes you wanted, if you combined the specializations. Another proof that additional skills and talents achieve more than restricted classes.

I like DnD 3.5 equally as much as the white wolf system, both are good for the settings they are meant to be used in

As long as they make modding new classes in easier than it was for DAO I don't really care either way. I will say I heard whisperings of a dedicated healing class though.

Shaman seems more like a specialization in the mage tree rather than a new class in itself.

Theres no classes that can't be simplified down to Warrior, Mage or Rogue.

well imo new classes are absolutely not necessary. you see, the shaman guy for example could simply be a specialication for warriors. you see, many characterclasses kinda ruin a game. u are making almost all important choices BEFORE you start playing. you may could make a class called "slaughterer", someone who is only allowed to use two handed weapons BUT can also use some magical power to damage his oponents and gets stronger when hes near death. AND he has got a high mental resistance. oh, wait, thats a templar/reaver whose skilled on 2H weapons...

Not necessarily, there are plenty of hybrid possibilities that DAO didn't allow you.  Like I said though, with mods it's a nonissue, not to mention you can make unique abilities/spells.  If anything I'd like to see a multiclass option with heavy penalties associated with it, but I doubt very much that will happen.
