Tw@t is a British swearword that refers to a female's genitalia. Colloquially it is used to negatively describe a person in the same way as d*ck, as*hole, etc.
a thank you now i got one more word to insult people in another language..
that game mechanics thing about the genlocks makes sense, but i still think they could've done it more elegant (for example weak genlocks in the beginning, stronger hurlocks later when more land was taken by the darkspawn.

I have a question: Is it a oversight that the genlock emissaries can cast magic spells? they are dwarfs!
Yes and No, the broodmothers where female dwarves.
But maybe the taint changed something that took away the immunty for magic and the fact they where unable too cast it.

Maybe there where Quanari females among them who got caught by darkspawn.

Anyway, in my opinion, the history of Thedas is very heavily influenced by the Fade and the mechanics of the Fade world. For example, I think Andraste was a mage. I hope we find out more about it in DA2 or in future games.I'm sure the Chantry would LOVE that! LOL

In the DnD based NWN the sun-elves claimed that they invented wizardry... Here that claim may actually be justified...

Anybody thinks that the fade being created by the Elves is credible? I would love to see that happen... Gives an entirely new facet to the world...

hmmmm perhaps the black city is what gives the fade energy? i mean that would explain why the fade is focused on the black city. it tries to be near the source. besides that, do u think we can ENTER the black city in DA2?

............ Tough to say...
The question is: Is darkspawn the greatest threat in Thedas? Is it the prime purpose of the story-line to rid the world of Blights? Then perhaps to finish the storyline, I think Mr.Gaider and Gang would have the final confrontation staged at the place where it all began...
But... and this is a big BUT (wink) If the story is about Dragon AGE, as in the time period, in general.. there will be no need to explore the Black city..... And it can be a place birthing permenant mystery to us fanboys..

About the energy: I think the source is Lyrium.... perhaps the greatest secret of the elves was that they found a way to harvest endless Lyrium from the Fade..... This can be another reason for the Imperium Archons to attack the Elves.... (pure speculation)... But think about it... It took half the supply of Lyrium to send the Imperium mages into fade Physically (and a lot of blood)... And the elves could send a CITY there.... if they did that is...

maybe they found a way to...idk... make the fade crash with the real world on a special place. i mean around this ex elven city is desert. propably they let the fade consume the area. if the fade already was near (like in that swamp area town in awakening) that wouldn't be too much of a problem, having the ability to do some science about the fade without being killed by templars (maybe thats why the chantry dislikes this kind of science)
How do you know its a desert? it looks like a depression to me? But I have had discussion on this before with saphirecosmos and we agreed that there was no way to decide clearly...
So you had a look at the map? Its quite revealing actually

this is very intresting however one thing i rememberd as i read this was the mage in the wardens keep dlc sais something about blood magic and controlling demons and that the taint is alien to them.So if the elves did indeed use blood magic to create the darkspawn surely it would not be alien to them. thoughts?
Actually it would be very much alien!! As it would mean that the Darkspawn came much later in time than the fade demons/spirits... and thus are aliens to the fade... BTW Avernus also says that the Darspawn do originate in the black city...
Makes sense?

hmmmmm im not sure if bloodmagic was necessary.... it's mostly about controlling minds and using blood instead of lyrium. imo something much much worse than bloodmagic is necessary to create something like darkspawn.
