just one more question about the black city: what the ... is there??? i mean even the demons don't want to got there. imo its the dark force that rules the darkspawn... just a thougt.
No freaking idea!! Guesses..??? Plenty...
The mirrors in the dalish-elf origin... Tamlen tells you on touching the mirror, that he sees a sunken city that has turned black, and IT sees him!!! IT?? Now waitaminute.... that means there is someone/thing there which rules the city from within... this is either inside the actual physical Arlathan or the Black city.. we don't know... But it may be Fen'Harel himself? Because if I remember correctly the pronoun for whatever inside was, it was IT... like a wolf...

i never thougt of the mirror that way.... well these mirrors were used for communication. maybe one of them stood in arlathan when it was beamed up. and that it thing makes sense. and the mirror spread the taint. maybe the dalish were the first since centurys who found a way into the black city.... and duncan smashed it! damn you duncan! id kill you if you werent dead already!

My guess? They were installed by the imperium when they were on talking terms with the Elders...

I really agree that the elves are the ones that somehow originated the curse. We already saw how powerful their curses can be (remember what Zathrian did!).

and zathrian was only some usual keeper and made an all boody and character change. the very powerfull elves can do better. but if they did the same with the invaders of the black city as zath with the werewolfs there would have to be some spirit the taint is bound on.....

Good point... It was not there earlier.... hmm... more speculation coming... Perhaps such caves appear whenever a blight is to begin? Perhaps the once buried arlathan is rising again piece-by-piece? and the cave is ACTUALLY a part of Arlathan? But then it has some human construction inside also.. so perhaps no... Any ideas?
well maybe those caves are used as points from were the evil force can watch the blight. i mean the fade and the real world are seperated but if theres a blight you want to watch that and intervene eventually. so you need entrances to the real world so you can tell your archdemon servant to do this or to kill that and so on.

and which is living in the black city?????
exactly my thoughts. so, in order to end all darkspawn, youd just have to go to the black city and kill some ancient epic evil....... mmhhh i smell an endboss.....

Perhaps its there to lure the unwary and spread the taint...
But remember... as soon as the mirror is found, Darkspawn appear... whether they come out of the mirror or for the mirror, is uncertain.... But since there are the dead-undead guys behind it... and Duncan sits there all the time.. I think Darkspawns are attracted towards it... please argue on this.. it can be really important...

the vista isn't that limited. as soon as you ARE in the real world, some godlike evil creature can see much, propably through the eyes of the darkspawn. maybe the undead are only an sideproduct of the black magic that was once used in that temple. i mean, if this IS the place were the tevinter mages tried to reach for the dark city, there was a lot of black magic. propably the darkspawn were trying to protect the mirror. from being destroyed or, much worse for them, being used as a portal to the ghost that binds the taint.

i can imagine an epic battle in the deep roads to reach the City or arlathan, then battling whatever stays there.. then setting up a ritual there to go into the fade and defeating maker equivalent spirit in the Fade Arlathan...

*facepalm* British is not "another language", in fact, it isn't a language at all! They speak English, the same language you're using.
Anyways, I think it's an interesting theory, you'll have to excuse me if I take it with a grain of salt, though.
