The original Dragon Age suffered from a lack of clothing, Hence, almost everyone ended up looking alike because everyone wore the same clothing, with few exceptions. Even the robes for the mages were based off of the same two or three meshes.
So, here is where BioWare should take a page from Bethesda and create a slightly more diverse wardrobe for everyone in the game. Pants/shirts should be interchangeable with one another, etc.
Do that, and the game will be even better. Of course, I know clothing is very superficial compared to elements like gameplay, but a touch of variety can never hurt.
A greater variety of clothing is needed for DA2.

Yep. There should DEFINATELY be a much larger variety of armour, weapon, robe and clothing models. Also, the rarest items should look unique.

Yeah reminds me of how in KOTOR 1 you had those tight "robes" but in the second one the where the ones from the films that flows and look awesome. Thats the sort of change I want to see here.

Less poofies on the mage hats would make me happy.

For mages robes, I'd like to see more indications that these are the clothes of an adventuring scholar. Belts, books, satchels, ingredients, tools, etc. A robe should be more than just a sheet with a hole in it.

Less stupid looking mage hats in general. In DA:O it was either a hankerchief or a dunce cap.

not just clothing.... character creator should have a wider range of choices, (im talking about ps3 dont know about pc but there is not much choice since we dont have the toolset or annything)

Mike Hawke needs something well-made to stand out better. If Mike Hawke looks like everyone else, then he won't get the attention he deserves.
I second the call for more styles.

For sure. Really disappointing when I was looking forward to Wade making me drake scale armor and it was... purple leather armor with more buttons.

oh and yeah I never put the mage hats on the mages. Every one except the cowl thing looked horrible.

how about a circlet or something? That's unobtrusive and mage-like.

That sounds like what I would go for. I never even used the mage hats either.

I wonder if it would be better if they made it more like Mass Effect 2 (wait, wait, hear me out) in that appearance is separate from equipment. So you can set your appearance and then no matter what you wear, your appearance will be the same (with the exception of some unique items).
That would free them up to give us a good 8-12 great options for each slot we can mix-and match at our leisure, and in return they wouldn't have to worry about appearance for any of the armor (again with the exception of some unique armor pieces).
I know I'd appreciate it more if I could just pick the look I liked and then not have to worry about an upgrade ruining my ensemble. =P

As much as I love cloaks, if they can't even handle long hair, cloaks would be all hell for them.
