i dont mind that. looks like the character is a ranger/archer. they usually wear medium armor. leathers and such.(maybe a small metal chest piece) shes not walking around in her underwear so, to me its ok, because it fits her profession.
say a knight/warrior, would wear heavy armor so i'd expect a full plate of armor(covered chest, shapely, with boob slots! i like a feminine touch).
5:42 is why you probably want chest protection. Especially when there's very accurate archers running about
^LMAO
My character would wear the non-protective chest piece and get shot. *Game over after 5min intro* lol
My preference is a balance of aesthetics and somewhat-'in character/realism', i don't mind the armor we're talking about. If you want to go hardcore realism/logically speaking, everything would be protected and you'd never take off your headgear.
But as a game i like a balance of both.(even if it doesn't make a weenie bit of sense)
And so the Bioware creators said "let there be cleavage, exposed legs and a helmet toggle."

Then again, chest protection or not, leather armour is not going to help much against a well placed arrow, for reference just check the success of English archers against French knights. Better then to go for mobility in combat which might actually involve showing some skin for flexibility. I know... the horror! As for realistic, quite a few warriors in history have gone to war nude (or damn close).
Maybe a little cleavage is more of a modern concern if you think about it?
I don't really see the point with having females look male, what a boring world some of you are trying to create. Let women look like women, there is no shame in it you know.
I want some god damned helmets that dont make me look utterly stupid. Please just a normal helmet I dont want horns I dont want feathers I dont want squirlles fighting each other I just want a normal helmet.

Lmao, Helmet toggle. Now now we dont need a **** running around. But we do need a buff shirtless hero running around whose not afraid to get hit. Cause after all It's only a flesh wound. I want stylish clothing cuz, My guy has to look good at the ending scenes lol.
Bioware stop making "Boob slots" in female armour. In real life, their armour wouldn't be crafted to comfortably fit their boobs. (In the rare case that a woman actually had a suit of armour)
If i remember right what i read, in real life suits of armour being dang expensive would be generally made to fit the individual wearer they were made for. So if said wearer had breasts, it's just a part of their shape and it'd be perfectly normal for the armoursmith to accomodate for that.
(the prohibitive cost of heavier armours is even mentioned in descriptions of DA items, usually the helmets)
They still wouldn't shape the armour to cup the boobs. Armour is not skin tight.
There's a bit of space in there because weapons like Maces and Warhammers would cause the armour to buckle and if it's skin tight that means your own armour is not wedged into your torso. (In fact, Longswords were pretty much useless against armour. Mace's and other blunt weaponry were far more effective. One bop to the head and the guy probably won't be able to fight.)
There's no reason she couldn't fit into the same shape of armour as Roland there, even if there's a little bit extra of a bulge. However you can see how in the first pit how the armour literally Hugs her boobs. Ain't hugging Rolands chest that's for sure.
Oh, and don't even get me started on the Dalish armour. I'm sure the protective bra female hunters wear is really effective armour compared to this: http://img340.images.../capture2gi.jpg

really in the end this is Realism/Practicalilty vs. fashion
with realism and practiclilty you to take into account of mobltilty the heavyer or the plate coverage will result in very little movement. And sure heavy plate would more some weapons useless against them but thats when people think of how to upgrade set weapons like the Bodkin point arrow (armor piercing) or hell just knock them on there backs so they couldn't really get up, and stab them inbetween the plates.
And fashion well it's quite obviously what wrong with that
last but not least is practicalilty vs. does it really matter. What I mean is leather armor, is it really going to pertect you from a sword or axe.
I hope that DA2 will be as mod friendly as DA:O. Because there sure are lots of creative players out there that has created some really cool and good looking armors.
Here are some examples. (Not going to insert the images. Dont want to flood the forum)
Yeah reminds me of how in KOTOR 1 you had those tight "robes" but in the second one the where the ones from the films that flows and look awesome. Thats the sort of change I want to see here.
Absolutely. AT least KOTOR 2 took some more chances with the limited graphics.
Very small set of armor/robes in DAO, my least fav thing about the graphics by far is lack of decent looking variety
As much as I want more variety/cool-looking armor, I really don't want the boob/butt hanging out variety. Practicality is still important here (plus despite the fact that this will obviously make a lot of male players happy, its just degrading for a "hero" to look like a hooker).
Different hats, not just better variants of the ones already there. Circlets, swashbuckler type hats (I have a particularly flamboyant rogue who wants headwear she can doff'). Different styles of leather armour - ones with leggings rather than skirts, or leather armour with longer skirts. Bracers. Pieces of armour, for that eclectic look. Armour and robes with designs on them - embroidered symbols on mage robes, for example. And signs of wear on the things you find - ground-in bloodstains on leather, scuff and sword marks in plate. Please?
It doesn't need to be skin tight. There is advantage to tighter fit though, which would be reduction of lateral motion (and motion in general) Of course there's binding for that too, but when combining both can give better result than just one, there's no reason not to shape armour in a manner which has some actual functional benefit.

Of course, that could be because man pectoral muscles don't actually bounce around much during physical activity as long as the man in question is physically fit rather than simply fat. Not so when it comes to breasts.
Could she squeeze into male version of the armour? Sure, but as long as a shape fitting more closely female figure can be helpful rather than disadvantage, there doesn't seem to be much point for that.
I wanted to like that outfit back in my Oblivion playing days, but the bare back on the female version totally ruined it. It's like... why is that there? It just looks STUPID!

Awesome outfits. But yeah, the bareback really is odd.

Er... wow. You can practically see her... butt cleavage.
As long as it doesn't go the route of ME2 with fewer choices and having to pay for horse armour alternate appearance packs (people actually paid money for that?), at least something may be an improvement over the first game.
