A greater variety of clothing is needed for DA2.

I agree, more variety and better looking gear would be nice. There's an awful lot of recycling going on in DA, and the DA community is a few years behind the Oblivion one (which is still quite active). Developers have better tools and supposedly more skill (not to mention doing this for money) so I expect more from them than from player communities.

Oh well... BioWare's games were never really about how
the characters looked... From Miranda's ugliness in ME2, to a lack of
clothes in DAO, etc...

She did indeed have a potato

Hey. You can call Thane a whiny, frog-faced, scaley-butted creeper suffering from the Carth Complex, and we'll call it even. ;)

And to stay on topic, I'm gonna have to go wiiiiith... cloaks.

Lots of them. Everywhere.

All over.

Saying Thane is like Carth is too nice to Carth....

I got my copy of Game Informer, and so far the mages robes looks like a slighly modded version of what we have in DAO, just retextured.  :?

I was being silly. I actually like the non-eye candy practical armor for the women. lol

That reminds me.

Bioware stop making "Boob slots" in female armour.  In real life, their armour wouldn't be crafted to comfortably fit their boobs. (In the rare case that a woman actually had a suit of armour)

I love you for saying this.
Also, strategically placed armor studs on said boob slots. (yeah, I'm looking at you, Leliana.)

Oh my goodness, THANK YOU.

It's distracting every time I talk to her.

The boob slots are pretty ridiculous, but I was actually disappointed by the lack of attractive clothing for male and female rogues and mages. Warriors need heavy armor, but mages certainly don't- heck, just look at Morrigan! And rogues deserve better than just light armor. Something more sleek, stealthy. I actually wouldn't mind sexy clothing, as long as it wasn't the only option. Sometimes you just RP a character that you know deserves better than the Robes of the Witch :crying:

The different types of armor and robes from the dragon age comics look awsome. I'd love to see more creativity like that in the second installment. I too noticed that every three or four characters on screen in DA:O were wearing the same thing. Especially the townsfolk. I know its not the main thing to worry about in a game but more clothing for the not so important characters just makes the expierience better for me.

TES? does that elf look like from elder scrolls to you? Not to me o.O

Oh well I assumed it was from TES because the link is from TESmods or something.

...actually, it is a TES mod. I don't know what it is though, but I recognize the ebony sword... Posted Image

Yep, it's a mod for Oblivion. The elf's look is immaterial, considering how moddable that game was. People modded in Lineage-style elf ears very quickly.

I think the DA:O toolset makes it very difficult to import custom meshes, or something. That's the only conclusion I can come to. Most of the mods' armour are retextures. It'd be nice if DA2 came with a toolset that's friendly to modellers, because the ability for modders to make custom weapons and armour really adds to a game's longevity.

Bioware should use their DA mod community to come up with new armor designs for the elite armors in the game. Put out an armor toolset and have a contest that way they get a wide variety of armors that look different. This would be great for the hard to get quested armors and will really involve the community.
