Since DA2 is about this guy called Hawke, is Bioware ever going to give us an ending to our characters from the first game?

You know, it's like someone writing a book, telling half the story, or perhaps two thirds, ending it with loose threads all over the place, and promises of more to come, and publishing it.

Everyone is looking forward to the installment where you get to experience the end.

Then, suddenly, out of the blue, the author makes public that the next book in the series will have absolutely nothing to do with the characters from the first installment, it will take place in another realm, it will be about something else entirely.

...................

There -are- a few authors like that, and it has done them no good.

So, I ask again, will Bioware -ever- give us the opportunity to actually end the tale of the warden?

The Warden saved all of Ferelden, then either reconstituted the Grey Wardens of Ferelden, ruled as King/Queen or committed the ultimate sacrifice in defence of the country. How much more closure could you want? You want to follow the Warden's last run into the Deep Roads when his/her time has come?

I think that by leaving it open-ended, they allow you to complete your character's story within your own imagination.

They've already said there's more DLC coming for DA:O. I'm hoping we get some Morrigan-closure there (because let's face it, the one huge thing left unresolved is Morrigan and the GodBaby).

But I wouldn't say DA2 has "absolutely nothing to do with the characters from the first installment." Our major, world-changing decisions will be imported, plus at least Flemeth (if not more) will return, and who knows what else?

^this^, many movies and games have left me with the feeling of "I NEED MORE" but eventually i just got over that stage and my imagination chose a scenario that worked best for me...obviously i wouldn't have been annoyed if they chose to continue the origin story's but I'm really excited for this new story now.

The ending happened at the end of Origins. At least for me.

Ten bucks says the other ending will turn out to be canon, no matter how much that saddens me.

I'm fine with another expansion that does a better job of wrapping up our Wardens' stories than Awakening, YET still being quite open ended so there'll be less people ****ing about a forced ending (I am seriously against finishing my Warden's story by having her bleed to death in the Deep Roads).
