So, I believe it was recently confirmed that while the DA:O interface will be altered somehow for the consoles for DA2, the PC interface will be retained from DA:O, meaning we should have our beloved isometric gameplay.

My question is, will that mean we can control the whole party? I know that initially ME had some version of full party control similar to KoTOR. Eventually, that was scrapped because we were Cmdr. Shepard, and apparently gameplay and story segregation (which I'm a huge fan off) was not allowed.

Is anyone open to commenting on whether or not we will have full party control in DA2? I really hope so. This is absolutely my favourite part of DA:O, by far.

What do you mean by full party control?

That would totally suck if it was only 1 party member controllable.

Well, because they're saying that PC combat mechanics are largely unchanged I would think that we'd still have the option to control which ever character we wanted. The only thing mentioned so far about the console change was that it would be easier to control and feel more fluid. Nothing as of yet should say otherwise about controlling full party.

You know when you use tactics? The characters that you haven't selected just play automatically? I don't like that. I disable tactics, and use pause-and-click to control the party, and F1-F4.

So I would select the PC, to cast spell might and then cast tempest. Then I click F2, say, and have Morrigan cast Blizzard. While the character I technically created and "am" inside the game is the PC, I can use and control as I wish Morrigan for the purpose of combat.

This is what I mean. I hate tactics and am worried that like in ME they will go away from full-party control to just controlling Hawke.

I'd prefer to have both available. I love tactics and usually let the AI do its thing most of the time. I only control them if I have to (usually in tougher fights). I still play tactically, I just find the AI fairly competent most of the time and it feels a bit more realistic to just be controlling my character.

Can't you already technically do that, it just plays a bit slowly then letting the AI work?

That's what I mean. I'm not saying remove a feature people like. I'm just hoping a feature I like won't be removed. To be perfectly honest, I don't have the patience to even learn how to work those tactics. It requires learning an interface of conditionals and maybe testing them out for a few battles... all to end up doing something I really like and can do better anyway.

I used a mix of tactics and pause-commands but did you really enjoy having to cast Herioc Offense or any other short duration buff over and over manually? Then again, maybe you were the type that enjoyed casting Blessing of Kings on 40 people every 5 minutes...
