DA 2 Purchase Poll!

Considering all the noise on the forums I'd be interested in some numbers on how the matter rests at this moment even if they do have some audience bias it should be a little better than just outright claiming your position is the most populous, Please vote in the above poll and discuss here if you wish

Dragon Age Two - Concerns and the likelyhood of purchase.

How concerned are you about the various aspects of Dragon Age 2 and how will these affect they likelyhood of purchasing the came. I know some things can not be known at this time, just take the most likely outcome.

I'm not worried at all. I will/have pre-ordered DA2

I have a few, very minor concerns, I will  almost certainly pre-order/buy DA2 or buy it used/discounted.

I have some significant concerns. There is a chance I will not buy DA2.

I have many major concerns, I will likely not  buy DA2 unless my concerns are addressed.

I not even know where to start there is no way Iwill buy DA2!

I'm going to wait before more information is out (particularly about a potential CE) before pre-ordering anything. I can't see a reason I wouldn't get the game... but we also know nothing about it short of Hawke and VO.

The only reason I haven't pre-ordered at this point is because I am waiting for the eventual Collector Editions and various retailer pre-order bonuses.

No concerns and will buy this but probably not pre order it. The Gamestop where I live has plenty of copies so a pre order isn't really necessary--so long as you're there on day one, the game guaranteed to be there.

Fair enough Gambient I just like getting all those little bonus for pre-ordering along with making sure I get the CE swag even if in the final assesment that stuff isn't really important to the game itself.

Based on the information so far, no I wouldn't buy it. I need to see more of it before I make my final decision.

Although I'm disappointed by some of the choices I've seen so far, I'm willing to give it a chance. I waited five years for DA:O, because I was a fan, and it didn't disappoint me, even if it wasn't exactly what I thought it would be.

I don't want an action RPG. I want a traditional RPG with lots of choices, consequences, and replayability. If DA2 doesn't give me what I'm looking for, I guess it's back to waiting, or replaying BG2 yet again.

Indeed. Always get the very last drop out of it.

It is a bit too soon to say with so little information out, however despite this I will most likely buy it, but probably wait a bit after it's released to buy it on Amazon for a little cheaper.

I know it's really early, and there's practically no information out yet, but I've actually pre-ordered already. I'm pretty loyal to Bioware and I've never been disappointed by them. Even if DA2 turns out to be a butcher of what Dragon Age is known as I feel it'll still be a great game just not in the way DA:O was. ^_^"

"I have a few, very minor concerns, I will almost certainly pre-order/buy DA2 or buy it used/discounted."

The way things are going, it is very likely I will pre-order. Even the stuff I don't love right off the bat I can make my peace with relatively quickly. A friend PMed me the other day with an article saying "BioWare to announce DA2 tomorrow", and I wrote back the following (this is a copy/paste of the exact wording):

Woooot.

My list of hopes/requirements:
1. MORRIGAN. She just HAS to be in it (she isn't in Awakening). Seriously...I'm somewhat obsessed with that character (if you hadn't noticed). She just...rules.
2. I'm hoping it takes place in Orlais, including at least a visit to Val Royeaux. This would fit for several spoilerrific reasons. After Leliana talks about it so much (in that sexy-ass accent of hers), I just want to see it.
3. That we continue to play our same character. This might seem like a no-brainer, but you would be surprised how many people on the forums want a completely new character, or to have it take place like 500 years later, etc.
4. I'm hoping the 02/01/2011 thing that was included in Awakening is really the release date for DAO2. Lots of people think it might just be an expansion. It's not all that far off, and there's lots of stuff in the upcoming fall/winter/spring to keep us occupied (new WoT book, Fable 3, etc.).
5. That I can avoid as many spoilers as possible between now and then.

(BTW, he hasn't finished playing through the game which is why I was
vague about Val Royeaux/Orlais, but it has mainly to do with Morrigan
heading in that direction.)

Yes, that's right, 4 out of 5 of my "requirements" have been utterly
demolished (and the success of #5 remains to be seen), and I am still
excited as hell for this game.

I hope we get a good sample size of people voting on this. I'd like to rerun this poll just a few weeks before release and see if the numbers have changed any.   I don't think there is enough information out there for a lot of the naysayers to say it will be horrible, worst game eva! etc (Not all just 99% or them).  I do however think there is more than enough info to say that it will be at least moderately enjoyable.  The things that would have to go wrong for me not to at least get $70 worth of enjoyment out of DAO2 are just not realistically going to happen.

This isn't really a "wait for more info poll" use the information you have now to make a choice, even if you don't have as much as you'd like.

Based on what we know at the present time, I'll be pre-ordering the Collector's Edition and ringing my game shop every day the week of release to find out if it's in yet. (This is what I did when the first game came out. I think the employees there still think of me as 'that crazy Dragon Age lady'.)

Obviously with seven or eight months to go before the release date, I could find out something that will change my mind.

I'd probably buy it and that's coming from someone who still hasn't bought Awakening for it not acknowledging the better ending of Origins.

based on the (scant) info I know, I'm in Category #2. I have a few concerns, but most likely will buy it.

My biggest concern is that, in the end, with all their new changes, they will severely limit the amount of control I have in defining my character.

So far, I haven't read anything that would suggest that is the case, aside from limiting you to being a Human.

My hope is that, by focusing on just a Human Hawke, and on a single "origin" this time around, they will be able to give us more freedom and control over how we play our Hawke character and shape our story and our world.....

but...only time will tell if that will happen.......need way more info before I can make a final decision....

Until we get more info and the CE is announced, then I shall pre-order it.
