I have some significant concerns. There is a chance I will not buy DA2.

I am reserving final judgment for whenever we can see some combat mechanic details, and perhaps some game play footage. It's going to be a while before I make any kind of final decision.

Although I'm disappointed by some of the choices I've seen so far, I'm willing to give it a chance. I waited five years for DA:O, because I was a fan, and it didn't disappoint me, even if it wasn't exactly what I thought it would be.

I don't want an action RPG. I want a traditional RPG with lots of choices, consequences, and replayability. If DA2 doesn't give me what I'm looking for, I guess it's back to waiting, or replaying BG2 yet again.

But teen, all Bioware games have alot of replay vlaue and lots of choices and great characters, can't see DA2 being any diffrent.

I have a few, very minor concerns, I will almost certainly pre-order/buy DA2 or buy it used/discounted

I'm sure the game will be great even if different from DAO. Origins has given me enough trouble that I would like to see it work before buying. Plus as mention in a post above, I'll wait to see what editions are offered before purchase.

It really depends on the information that is released over the next few months.

March might be packed with PS3 exclusive releases but of course I'll buy it. Collector's edition too if there's one. At least I'd be a happy pauper :)

If I get enougn votes this time around and don't forget I fully intended to put up an identical poll a few weeks before the games release when we have more information. Right not I'm not really concerned about how you'll feel about purchase in 4 months, I wanna know what the mood is right now.

Yes i will buy it, and the only reason for me to not have pre order it yet is because i am waiting for Steam to release the collectors edition!

My optimal answer would be 'wait for more info,' but since this is a poll to gauge the difference between now and later on down the line (with more info), I answered that I have significant concerns. I am running on hope and faith (with the team) at the moment.

Once I can see much of what I am concerned about in action, and more explanations, then I can make a better judgment. But yes, significant concerns for now.

I have bought every single PC & Console Bioware game made since Baldur's Gate 1 (didn't buy Sonic though because I have no interest in handheld gaming except for like pong and pac man and stuff). All I need to know is that Bioware is making it and I'd buy it even if it were advertised as a steaming pile of poo that will make my PC's watercooling loop fart out methane whenever I open up the reservoir.

Why? I've loved every Bioware game so far so I'd bet the farm that if Bioware made such a watercooling methane fart producing game --- it'd be HELLA cool. Guaranteed.

I was a bit worried that the tactical combat was gone on but the articles I've read say the tactical combat is still in on PC.

I'd have bought it and loved it one way or the other -- but no more tactical combat would make me a VERY sad panda.

I've a few very minor concerns at this stage. Given the paucity of real information (and the enormous amount of teeth-gnashing and rumor-milling), the reasonable response is to wait and see. I'm fairly certain I will pick it up on or near release, if my lovely PC combat is intact.

Really? Can you link it? Can you quote it? I haven't heard anything about this yet.

I wish there was a way you could add a Steam functionality (being able to redownload it/play anywhere etc) for like an extra $10 or so and still phsyical copy and all the swag that includes.  I'd be a steam convert if it wasn't for my magpie tendancies when it comes to games I like.

I'm not sure if it's true or not as there is no printable source or anything, but it is mentioned in the What we KNOW so far thread, near the bottom of the OP.

"PC combat largely unchanged, console combat changed to better suit the
controller"
http://social.biowar...1/index/3064634

I know I heard it somewhere else too, but  I really cant remember where.

Hmm im actually quite suprised by alot of responses in this thread, i dont want to inflate Biowares ego or anything, but has anyone ever not enjoyed a bioware game? has any bioware game had a bad story?, i think you'd be hard pressed to find one, i mean DO:O was bought by people who didnt even like those type of games, thats how good it was, and your unsure about its sequel? seriously?.

Imo any game with bioware involved will almost certainly mean a purchase untill i see otherwise.

I think I'm going to wait for the reviews on this. I know I didn't even buy Dragon Age because it didn't have that great of a rating on IGN. I remember I bought it on Amazon for like 30 bucks lol. I guess it depends on the games out at the time. I'm still hyping Fallout: New Vegas lol.

On what I know so far I will certainly buy it and like it a lot. Will I like it as much as DA:O? Will I play it as much as DA:O? That remains to be seen.

Probably will buy DA2. Unless the roleplaying aspect is severely handicapped.

I have some significant concerns but I haven't decided one way or another. I need more info into this new direction they're taking DA. It really does depend on what Bioware will do with the game that will ultimately be the deciding factor for me.

I'm gonna buy it. I play most games for story, not so much
gameplay, so even changes to that wont really affect me. As story goes, as much
as I like the Origins characters, and as much time as I put into them, I really
don’t mind moving on to a different cast; Would I have liked the old
characters, yes, but I don’t bioware could make a game that would please
everyone in that regard.

I also think that once we see some screenshots and trailers people will lessen
up on the moan/rage/wild speculation that is plaguing the forums right now.

This will be a clear 'preorder' if there are bonus in-game items worth it. But I've found recently that Best Buy is the 'best bet' for getting a game (even CE) on release date. No preorder snafus ("oh, we accidentally sold too many copies, so you're going to have to wait an extra 2 weeks") and most importantly-- no shipping charge.

As an RPG fanatic and BioWare fan, I wouldn't even think of waiting for reviews. Even with EA's ichor-filled tentacle in the process. Sid Meier is the only other game producer that deserves that kind of automatic purchase on release. For me, anyway. The Total War folks used to be #3, but then Empire happened and well...

The truth of the matter is i feel it is too early to make any decision concerning any game 7 months in advance of its scheduled release date. I as an avid gamer am always on the prowel for the next game to add to my ever expanding collection. Quite honestly there are several games due out around the same time period as DA 2, The Witcher 2 for example which IMHO The Witcher was every bit as good as DAO was except for the total lack of character customization. Further more since i can only play one game at a time there is no point in rushing right out and buying any game for that matter until i have made sure i have squeezed all the entertainment value from the title i am currently playing. I am also a rather thrifty individual and in quite a few cases if you wait or watch you can catch any new release a few weeks after it's initial release for up to 20 dollars cheaper.

I am more or less just going to do what i always do concerning any game, i am going to watch for released information concerning the several titles i have on my watch list, decide which feels like the game i want to tear into at that particular moment. In all honesty after the changes that Bioware made to ME2 from ME i am having a difficult time remembering that DAO and DA2 is not the ME series. I will add that as there are several games i am watching due out around the same time as DA2 alot could depend upon who hits the market first. I may buy The Witcher 2 if it releases before DA2 if at that time i am in between games or on the tail end of the obsession for the current game who's disc is in the DVD player.
