So, much negativity that I feel obligated to make a positive thread to try and balance out all the people complaining. I look forward to this game. Yes, it will be a slightly different experience, but different does not mean bad. Most people praised the changes Bioware made from ME1 to ME2 and I have a feeling most will do the same for this game.
Remember too that if there is an editor it is very likely someone would implement a character creation system for their own game. Or play mods for DA:O if there is no editor for the second one.
I am positive the game will be good and I can't wait!!! Keep up the good work!

In ME2, we still played our original Shep. The thing is, gamers invest a certain amount of emotion and energy into their characters. It's not just like a character in a book, it's one we've had a hand in creating. Most of us were looking forward to the "further adventures of" our Warden.
Sure, Bioware does great games, and I've no doubt DA2 will come up to standard. But saying goodbye to a character we spent between 40 and 120 hours with (depending on sidequests and Awakenings) is a disappointment.

It's a huge disappointment. That we are further stripped of the origins, character customization, and thrust into the role of "Hawke" (wow I hate that name) is just...bleh. Makes me very very sad.
I heard about Dragon Age 2 and was ecstatic. Within 2 minutes, after reading what was being done to it, I was absolutely crushed.

The more I research into the game and the more I read the Devs comments the more I'm looking forward to the release. Really wish more would pay attention to all that was being said about the game rather than make assumptions and complain. I'm sure a lot more would be looking forward to its release

DLC and possible expansion may come out before even DA2 does.
You may get your tie ins soon.

Thank goodness someone's positive. Sheesh. People jump to conclusions too quick around here.

It is what they have said about the game that is making us complain. No one is making an assumption, we are simply agonizing over the poor decisions Bioware has made in the development of this game.
That you are excited for it does not imply that everyone witha differing opinion is ignorant. We are well aware of what is actually being said about DA2 and that is why we are unhappy.

I'm excited for better graphics and excellent story telling. Everyone who is upset should look at what else is coming out. If your looking for great story telling in a fantasy world in which you get to shape the main character, you have no other place too look but Dragon Age 2.
Sure, you could hold out for Elder Scrolls 5, but of course you would lose out on the strategic RPG combat and it while I love Cyrodiil, Ferelden is its own experience.
