Plottwist: Hawke is Flemeth, or at the very least a piece of her. When Flemeth died either because of the Warden in DAO or afterwards because of natural causes, her 'soul' split in as many pieces as creatures she could transform into. These 'soul pieces' were either reborn on their own - creating entities with false memories which may or may not have been based on hers - or entered already existing creatures. Hawke essentially being the bird seen at the Tower of Ishal and dragon lady... well, duh. The rest or a select few of your party, perhaps even the antagonist, may also each be a one of these "chosen".

And when all of them are by chance or by fate gathered at one place, Flemeth will be reborn.

Also, note how Hawke's right arm seems to morph into a bird's claw, like how dragon lady's arm transformed into a dragon one.

And no, no way an armor would somehow normally have a claw like that.

/end wild mass guessing

Ok lets keep the whole MEtal gear solid 2 liquid snake thing out of DA please!Image IPB

Its supposed to be only a spiritual successor to BG2. Not a remake.

i would think Flemeth would be more concerend with Getting Revenge then helping us

Not really. Why would she seek revenge from Hawke?

I think it would totally kill the immersion for me when we meet her with Hawke.

Me: OMG! It's Flemeth! What is she doing here? Isn't she supposed to be dead? And what happened to Morrigan and the God child?

Hawke(to Flemeth): Who in the blue hell are you?

Flemeth(to Hawke): I could ask you the same question.

Me: *facepalm*

My guess? She helps you escape Lothering, giving her special advise to you for 2 hours, and then you never see her again. Maybe she'll narrate the beginning and end, although I would prefer Morrigan to narrate as she was said to be the face of Dragon Age, or maybe that was only Dragon Age: Origins she was the face for.

flemeth doesnt know hawke and hawke doesnt know flemeth... they have never met... we did or did not kill her with our own character which isnt hawke.... so flemeth might use hawke to find the damn baby and her mother :P

Flemeth will probably be another Duncan and die by some overwhelming odds or something like that. I like the idea that she will help you escape from Lothering, though since that sounds like Flemeth.

But unlike Duncan, she has already "died" before and can keep coming back while Duncan can only die once and not come back. Also, I can't see her being a Duncan, as Duncan was a mentor and she is a manipulator.

Yeah I always liked that about Flemeth. I'd still call her a villain somehow even though all she ever did to me was save my life and help me start the mission to defeat the blight. I "killed" her based solely on Morrigan's word, which is what made that such a profound decision.

Kreia was a 'mentor' as well.

What is funny is that we don't even know the whole story. I mean we are literally dancing to Morrigan's tune who we don't even know in the slightest. I killed Flemeth, with ease, but I wouldn't call her a villain, yet...

I would say she is a realist and is a survivor if i could i would avoid killing her.

But on some of my runs morrigan is queen and i must do as she says.

Yes, that is exactly what happens to me as well. I feel like Morrigan can make me do anything (which I absolutley hate), but at the same time what if there is a chance she is telling the truth... I just hated myself for jumping to conclusions, but it was Morrigan who was talking, and she is queen lol.

I really mostly figured Morrigan was lying to me the first time out in the game but she's helping me and, hey, I figured Flemeth is bound to have some great stuff to help me out. so time to die old woman.

Then you find her only real loot and, well, the game is a bit up with truth vs lie and the theory that killing her is gonna net you a hoard (trying not to be spoilerish).

I don't now the whole 'is Flemeth evil' stuff confuses me.

I mean in Irish mytholegy The Morrigan is some evil witch.

So maybe Morrigans plan was to take over Flemeth's witch of the wilds title, like Zevran suggested in one party banter.

As Flemmeth was alive during the events at Lothering and she can see into the future (see books and DA:O) I guess she felt that poor lad will have a story to tell and an important one. She helped him to stay alive when the horde overrun that piece of land.

This is my whole problem with bringing back old characters the player already knows about with a new PC...

Now what Could Flemeth gain by helping out some kid in lothering if indeed she does help out some kid in lothering?

If Flemeth does see into the future as some people claimed and she saves you.
It might be because she nows what you are going to do in the Free Marches, wich could be simialar too your goal.
But why should we know why Flemeth does things.
