Different races in future games.

So I'm just wondering whether you would want to see other races such as Dwarves and Elves playable again in future games, or whether you would be happy to stick with humans.
I personally want them back, but YMMV.

Of course we want them back. When I first heard of DA2 I actually expected MORE races, like the Qunari, not drastically less.

I think they are trying to make Hawke to DA like Shepard is to ME...so I doubt it.
If they do they make it like Mass Effect I think that will pretty much completly kill the series for fans of the original game. But they're claiming not to be doing that. But a lot of people are worried that it will turn out like Mass Effect.

Hawke appears to be (at this stage) a voiced pc that we can still see as ourselves for those of us who like to roleplay, in a way. Imagine if you could only be human in DA:O, Bioware would be referring to the Warden as "Cousland." I'm pretty sure that in the same way, we'll still be able to build him up from nothing, and we won't see him in DA3. Mind you, this is speculation.

That's so abhorrent to think about.
If I wanted to play Mass Effect, I'd be playing Mass Effect, not Dragon Age.
God what a frightful thing. Hopefully this little experiment will die after this game.

Different sized characters completely **** up the cinematic animation where characters interact with other characters and other items.

You have no proof.

I'm actually more disappointed with the lacking of backgrounds/origins rather than the lack of species to choose from. Still sounds fun to me, Free Marches was third in my list of where I would like to see next, Tevinter and Nevarra being first and second.

Well, they didn't have a choice it they wanted to make it more cinematic.

It's true. Dwarves don't frame too well and this ruins the cinematicyness.

With the future games I suspect we will see every game focusing on one origin each. When the series is finished sometime in the far-away future you will have a set of games that when combined makes an enormous and way more in depth version of the original DA:O.
A few possible plot lines for future sequels could for example be...
Dwarf - Restoring the Deeproad
Elf - Finding Arlathan
Mage - Crushing/claiming Tevinter
Qunari - Invading Thedas
If this theory were to be true you can all rest asured that you're getting what you ask for, but at a much greater scale. So please don't be such haters of the "one race approach", just yet at least. Let's wait...
