Um...why?  Fantasy/Sci-Fi mix used to be a fairly common setting for RPGs.  The Wizardry games and the Might and Magic games both had settings that mixed fantasy and sci-fi.

I mean, admittedly, literally having Tali would be rather absurd, but I would think it would annoy anyone who wasn't a hardcore Talimancer, not just use old school gamers.

I think the hardcore old school gamers would be the ones to have that bother them enough to not play.Everyone else will be annoyed but will still see the games good points.

There is absolutely nothing from ME2 that I like to see in DA2. I've read that DAO sold better than ME2. That should be an indication that dumbing down RPGs is not the way to go.

DA also sold on more platforms.Or so I have heard.Many go without buying games because they do not have the proper gaming system.Also it was deemed as the spiritual successor of baulders gate I believe.I think ME sold pretty well considering.Also you do not see anything resembling the tali threads in DA forums.

Have you not seen the 4+ tali threads that nearly broke the forums?
Seriously like 6 months ago those threads were breaking the forums.Like 6 of them got locked because of how big they were.The latest one is nearing the page number the earlier ones achieved.
Since I spend some months here and some months not follwoing these forums at all I have no idea how many were made.

DA sold on PS3, that's true.  However, if you look at the actual sales figures, it's not like DAO wouldn't have still outsold ME2 without the PS3.  So the "more platforms lol" argument is invalid.  DAO was a fantasy RPG that didn't get total God of War treatment.  There's clearly still a market for that, and it's a fairly big market.  Unfortunately, EA Bioware's convinced itself that it'll get more sales if DA2 is closer to a Mass Effect 2-style moviegame than DAO.

Id like the choices carrying over....which ME 2 did very well...it did not slip my notice that there was less choices for ME3 to deal with though They didnt wanna double the choices work for that one i see.

 hide helmet! i hate my characters w/ helmets... it doesn't really give them a unique appearance, plus when morrigan was in my group she had some FAIL wizard hat. she didn't look nice @ all

ME2 sold 1,854,443 on the 360 for the first 20 weeks. vgchartz doesn't have PC sales. DA sold 1,656,828 for the first 20 weeks on the 360. No PC data, and 899,415 on the PS3. To me it looks like ME2 outsold DA by almost 200,000 on the only platform we have joint data for. At 60$ per game, that would mean an extra $11 million for ME2.

I prefer the Mass Effect sytle love scenes over the one's from DA:O, none of them were truly unique, and they felt kinda awkward, and really cheesy. Mass Effect's were so much better, and I hope DA2's romances are similar to it.
