There is absolutely nothing from ME2 that I like to see in DA2. I've read that DAO sold better than ME2. That should be an indication that dumbing down RPGs is not the way to go.

Lies. DA:O sold nowhere near as much as ME2. And I wouldn't call ME2 dumbed down. Its just more reflex based than stat based. And whether thats a good thing or not depends on the person playing. Personally I'm adaptable to all styles and appear to be one of the few people that enjoyed both DA:O and ME2 in equal measure.

I think they should add a laser pistol for mages...it would be powered by mana...

There are no laser pistols in ME. You obviously don't know ME lore. Image IPB

Over-the-top dialogue interrupts.

Varric narrating:

" So there a peasant was yelling at Hawke for stepping through her cornfield. Hawke stood there listening for a few moments and suddenly with NO WARNING, he just PUNCHED HER IN THE FACE! And said an awesome sarcastic one-liner! "

No interrupts, I hate those, there is just seconds to click for it and it is not even hinted at with a few words what will happen if you do as in the case with the dialogue wheel

That's part of the fun is to see the reaction. It's not like they are ever mandatory.

But we'll see.

DAO sold far better than ME2, although probably because its multiplatform

I'd like to see the romance scenes, and the Harbinger. Also a normandy easter egg.

DA sold on PS3, that's true.  However, if you look at the actual sales figures, it's not like DAO wouldn't have still outsold ME2 without the PS3.  So the "more platforms lol" argument is invalid.  DAO was a fantasy RPG that didn't get total God of War treatment.  There's clearly still a market for that, and it's a fairly big market.  Unfortunately, EA Bioware's convinced itself that it'll get more sales if DA2 is closer to a Mass Effect 2-style moviegame than DAO.

ME2 outsold DA on the 360 in the first 20 weeks by 200,000. That's a significant difference - $10,000,000 in revenue if the game is $50.

I can't find PC sale figures. But I don't see the grounds for this claim.

Dragon Age: Origins was the last of its kind I think, or at least the last for the series to have an unvoiced PC. We had a whole lineup of great RPGs, NWN, BG, KOTOR, JE etc etc, all without a voice, and they were all great. Now out of the blue Dragon Age is being turned into a medieval version of Mass Effect. I have no problems with Mass Effect, I love it. I play ME for the voice and the dialog wheel and many other things that they are now planning to incorporate into DA. I played DA for the fact that I could imagine how lines would be delivered, to pick his/her race and to have more than just 3 options on the wheel.

I know they've said that you'll be met with 5 options for some of the choices you make but with the expenses and time alloted to record a voiced PC(and hearing that there will be two different voice actors to choose from for m!Hawke and f!Hawke) I think its unlikely we'll have 5 options each and every time we speak to someone, and I liked the fact that it was common to have about 6 possible responses at the very least in DA:O.

There are so many problems with DA2 that I see so far; the new art direction for races, darkspawn and in general the stylized look of everything that it would make some people think they are moving away from Mass Effect graphics, but it seems more like they are trying to simplify it like they did with Mass Effect 2. Everyone says to wait and see, that this is just unfinished stuff but I can't help but think some of this will actually end up in the final product if not all of it.

tl;dr Nothing from Mass Effect should be put into DA2 if it can be avoided. They are two completely different games.

edit: oh and this is completely ignoring the "DA2 may be told from another perspective and thats why everything is different" or of course "it might all be a dreaaaam" BS excuses i've heard so far.

Wow i finally found something i may like about ME2, the codex was voiced?

So how about a voiced and animated codex for DAO2 that would be great.

The voiced codex would be great....but....I imagine it fit in ME2 because it was like a computer voice....so....for DA2 it would be your Main characters voice?I guess they could do it like that....or the narrator's voice?

hmmmm a voiced codex has the flaw that voices are soooooo much slower than just reading the text...
