Only when everyone is chanting at the same time with the evil mages reveal themselves and the power they wield as they conquer all of thedas at once.

Due to the fact that the Christian moral guardians are far more widespread, and wield far more influence than their atheist and even religious rights counterparts in the region which EA is most concerned with, if there's any confirmation on the Black City and Maker, it'll be that the Church is right, god/the Maker exists.
Otherwise we'll get a fox news segment on how EA is in league with the devil and is bent on the destruction of all that is good and holy. How assassin's creed has slipped through the Fox news net is a mystery.

I think Modern Warfare 2 took some of the heat. Now if only another popular FPS comes out at the same time, Bioware/EA is home free!

Who better to combat (or lead) the Fade denizens than a child with an Abomination as a grandmother and an Old God's soul?

I hope Dragon Age 3 has "Offspring and the Fade" as its main storyline. Assuming there's a ten year gap or so between each game, Morrigan's child would be in its early twenties by that time, leaving it wide open for the protagonist role.

While I'd love to see all those guys who immediately assumed Morrigan junior is automatically a villain(ess) be proven wrong, combating the denezins of the fade sounds stupid. Now if Morrigan's child became a grey warden, getting archdemon like powers without the insanity...

That's great, except you have no idea if any of that's actually true. It smacks of Chantry bulls**t to me.Tooneyman wrote...
OK, heres how this works. The black city was doomed as the Maker's throne. The tevintar mages decided they wanted the makers power and broke into the black city. Now they said the city was corrupted by their hearts for power and greed and turned them into the dark spawn. Now they said the MAges came back to earth and the darkspawn spread. What if and this is a long shot? What if HAwke's emeny in the new game is one of those dark mages from the black city. Can you say. WOW!

YEah, but we already know they're dragon gods in this game world who are immortal. What if the mages are purses of evil and are the dark spawn leaders. The architect could have been one under them if you think about it. They have not only mastered the dark power of the dark spawn, but have also mastered the magic. What more powerful enemy could you face. They're powers would be that of the ulitmate enemy. More powerful than the archdemon.

I thought about Kerrigan from Starcraft when I read this, sort of creating a new major faction in the DA-universe, an army from the Fade seeking to make its way into Thedas.
While it (to me) would be cool, I don't think that's going to happen anyway

I'd say let it stay as a myth in the game, mostly. Breaking the mystery would probably make it mundane and it would lose interest.

There have been nothing in the game, awakening or the books that can support that the original mages are still "alive". One would think they became darkspawn and then found one of the Old Gods calling to them. In the first Blight they may have hold a leadership position, but were likley killed by Grey Wardens.
That is, if any of the Chantry's stories are true.
