Do you think that the main plot of DA is to unite the Free Marches. I mean it says hes the most important person in Thedas and I think that uniting all of the Free Marches is a major accomplishment. Plust thats where you start. The fact that its lots of independent city states must have been picked for a reason.

I like the idea of uniting the Free Marches, though I would actually like to go beyond that and exercise influence in the neighboring countries as well, either directly or indirectly.

I wonder if the Marches are as xenophobic as Ferelden? Will Hawke, being a Fereldan, be distrusted?

As important as uniting the Free Marches is, almost single handedely defeating the Blight in a year seems to be a more impressive accomplishment, but I digress and dismiss the "most important guy in the DA" as marketing hype *for now*.

But yes, I do hope Hawke's story is about uniting the Free Marches and being their Bismarck so to speak. Maybe even have a war with Nevarra. As long as it's rich with political intrigue, I'll be satisfied.

I actually hope it's not about uniting the whole Free Marches, at least not permanently. The area is too interesting to spoil by making it the same centralised 'nation state' as anywhere else. Being the Hero of Kirkwall may mean using the resources of that area to save the Free Marches/World, but doesn't have to mean ruling it all.
