Yeah, actually, if they're going to do something like that, they better make damn sure that it doesn't crash. I'm getting sick of DA:O crashing right in the middle of a fight, and my last save was a ways back.Tooneyman wrote...
Yeah and it crashes the PC even better.Woohoo. Only if I can turn it off!

That would be cool. Not necessary, but it would be very welcomed.
A voice acted PC isn't necessary either but we're getting one;)
I'd be all for a day/night cycle and dynamic weather. What I'd really like to see are some more impressive envrionments and better looking light and shadow effects. Concept art always blows me away with the impressive lighting you see but that visual style rarely transfers well to the games...

I don't believe you read a single word of any post on this thread.AlanC9 wrote...
Nah -- tying the game clock to real time ruins pacing. Redcliffe wouldn't have worked with a clock.

All they need to do is improve the variety of night/day/weather cycles and possibly base those on how quickly you advance through a stage. Different weather and time cycles may influence certain types of random encounters. But tying them to a 24 hour game clock could possibly prove more problematic than it seems.

I am not fond of 24h time systems. I remember playing Fallout 3 and if I arrived in Megaton/Rivet City to trade while the markets were closed, I'd always end up hitting the wait key. It just doesn't make sense to me - will my character really "wait" 6-10 hours just to dump some useless weapons?

They don't need to take it as far as Fable does and have the shops close at night.
They could have night time vendors. "Nightshift" as you will.
If they're really good, they could even have vendors that ONLY appear at night.

Yeah, still waiting for the patch. Eck. Its time like these that make me want to be an expert programmer. Then I could make a mod and fix it.

Day/night cycle worked fine in 1998 hell, even in 1996. what makes you think that's gonna be any problem now?Tooneyman wrote...

I know bioware is the older more experienced dev team... but they need to take a page out of The Witcher's book when it comes to weather and day/night cycles. They f*in nailed the atmosphere.

You'd have to be rather daft not to be able to locate an inn or sleep in the wilderness.JasonPogo wrote...
I DO NOT WANT this. I hate when games have a day and night cycle. Nothing is more anoying then waiting around our looking for a plae to "sleep" till its day time so you are not running around doing your mission in the dark.

But the point is why should I have to.

Ads to the roleplaying. It added to Baldur's Gate in a non-annoying way. why should we NOT be able to? fatigue is a factor.JasonPogo wrote...
