Here are some ideas that I had, but First off I have posted before talking about how in ME1 you had content instead of the loading screens (elevators etc) and how you would actually go and take your crew to the door of
the Normandy to the air lock then the port etc and as a solution to people who favor ME2 loading screens to ME1’s way I thought may be bioware could have it as an option where you choose whether you want this or that. As for the space flight, space combat and other vehicles that remains to be seen. Please bear in mind that I have not been to the boards for quite some time as I did not have a home connection and still don’t as I write this and so I am yet to play the hammerhead as I am waiting to download Kasumi and Overlord so that I play them
all together.
Before starting I want to say that I hope in ME3 the game is much longer than ME1 and 2 and that they combine the best of both and improve upon them while adding the new, I don’t really want to go on mentioning every single detail that I want from this game as most of it has probably already been said on other threads, but I will just say that I am a big old Bioware fan as well as rpgs and so I hope Bioware brings back the magic of the rpg feel and elements of one and the improvements of two (not mentioning graphics and things that are a given) and ofcourse the whole crew improvement, I also hope they bring back improved uncharted worlds with your vehicle to transverse them and all.
Now to the ideas, I like how in ME2 every character had special abilities that are only theirs, but wanted to go further into that and have every character completely be his/her own so much that the play and feel entirely different this includes Shepard’s classes. I will give you some examples of my own. This idea might not be very good as it might take the game in the wrong direction so I am not quite sure about it please let me know what you think. I thought may be add melee combat not what they already have, but a melee combat system that includes gunplay and some grapples(finishing and so) but not to heavy that it becomes an action adventure game no, more like the way the charge move was done something in between that gets the action flowing without getting too much, then have it work with every class so that it is used with the class’s abilities and a lot for each class, a soldier for example can be heavy on melee and have moves like closing on an enemy and hitting one a couple of times disarming and dizzying him/her for a couple of seconds to take cover behind them and shoot what they can in those seconds (not human shield). Biotics can use their powers in melee an example would be the charge
move but instead of shooting the enemy you can melee them twice or so then throw(physically or biotically) them on another enemy. Infiltrator would have fast silent smooth moves etc.
As for your crew let each one have their exclusive abilities, moves, animations and play style. Have Drell use his abilities that we see in the cut scenes so that he feels like an assassin may be you can go in solo mode (KOTOR) and have him do what you see him do in cut scenes, this goes for everyone, Samara very heavy on biotic powers and *SPOILERS* may be give her the biotic bubble move among other moves etc
Another thing is the camera position, I like ME1’s camera position behind Shepard in and out of combat than ME2’s zoomed in over the shoulder view, it maybe a small thing, but again maybe have the view adjustable
in the game or options.
Last thing I want to add is opening the planets up not only like the citadel in ME1 but more, I hope that the planets are very big that they feel like planets and not just one big base ofcourse this is not exactly the case here as the backgrounds gives you that feeling, but imagine being able to walk on the actual ground in Ilios you can see below you and take one of those small flying vehicles (forgot their name) and (you the player) fly it anywhere or to another building like the scene where you are going to the building Drell’s at but in real time with the other vehicles flying by and next to you, without having them becoming too much that the game loses its identity.
Overall I absolutely love the ME series, but obviously I favour ME1 to ME2 (ME blue, rpg, cool theme and ME2 red, more action theme) hopefully ME3 will be more blue.
