Playing through for a second time and downloaded the cerberus content part way through. Everything seems good until I play out the Hammerhead scenario. My team lands on planet, I hear the audio from research team... I discover the Hammerhead vehicle. Now I am "driving" to research points? green areas where a pop up tells me to right mouse click and stay close to "research" to reseach ... I do everything game is telling me, yet the reseach bar does not fill up or move at all! I have hopped to each indicated point in this scene, yet nothing seems to happen when I right click . Am I missing something? It has been an exercise of nothing happening even though I have searched all areas available.

Mass Effect 1 does not have Hammerhead DLC or Cerberus.

Check your vehicle controls and reconfigure them if necessary. I use the V key when I stand on the spots where you collect the data, but I don't remember if that was the default or if I reconfigured it.
Once you know which key to press.. well, it's pretty straightforward from there. Just make sure you get all the points.
