So im wondering if i messed something up. Ive played through alot of the game at this point, and i just finished the sacred urn quest and killed the dragon and all the drakes in there(the only drakes ive faced in the game that dropped a scale at least) and i only ended up with 5 drake scales and 1 dragon scale. i need one more scale to get all the armor made but theres not really anywhere else left for me to go. I retraced my steps in the caverns to make sure i didnt miss any but theres none left. At this point all i can do is head to denerim with the arl and progress the main questline. Will there be anymore drakes in my future or am i SoL on the armor?

There were 6 drakes in the caves leading to the Urn. You must have missed one somewhere, because that's the only place they are.

Actually, there are drakes in the Circle Tower...

If i had killed 6 would its corpse still be in there or would it have dissapeared? Cause i went back through and the only corpses i saw were reavers. Also i did the mage tower awhile and got no scales in there.(dont even remember seeing any drakes)

doesn't he only take 3 for the armor? I had him make it, and still have 3 in my inventory...

I don't remember any drakes in the circle tower. I remember little dragonlings, but not drakes.



The corpse should still be there. At least, I've never seen a lootable corpse disappear from an area even after leaving it. Maybe you just completely missed one area? I don't know. All I know is that there are 6 drakes in the caves, and they all drop scales.

Ya but you need to give him 6 in total + a dragonscale for the dragon armor

I had only found 6 overall, he made 2 sets of armor from the Drake Scales, and then used my Dragon Scale for a final set. First set of Drake armor was meh, 2nd set wasn't half bad.

Ok, thanks mystranna i guess ill just have to keep walking around there till i find it, i remember killing one drakes on the way and didnt loot a scale from it because it didnt seem lootable at the time. i must have just not waited long enough till i could loot it. I couldnt find the body when i went back in there tho. Hope it didnt vanish

It's weird how long you have to wait to loot corpses sometimes. I remember standing there for like 3 minutes and eventually left. Came back later to find a sparkly pile of bones.



I know there are two in the area with the pens/cages, two where you fight the mage who drops the arcane warrior sword, and I think at least one in the area where you can loot a pendant from a dragon egg. Memory is fuzzy, though.

Ok ill try one more time to look for it. If not i have a save in Haven so i could always go back and do it all over again if i have to. I know what you mean too about how long it takes to loot corpses sometimes, usually not a big deal but in this case kinda annoying lol

I dont know if this happened to anyone else, but for some reason I still have 3 drake scales left. When I talk to Wade however, his pimp tells me to leave. I had Wade make me the first set of drakescale armor a while ago, then came back and he made me my second drakescale armor aswell as my dragonscale armor.



Why is it that i still have three scales left and he wont make anything with them.

Hope this isn't a bug....... anyways ***GOT DRAKE SCALES FOR SALE***

If you got two sets of Drake Scale armor from him, then it must be a bug that left them in your inventory. He refuses to do business with you after the dragon scale armor is made.

On my first playthrough I only found three in the caves. I was playing a rogue and was using stealth a lot. someone mentioned on another post not to use stealth around these areas since the Drakes only spawn when they see you. but, wouldn't they see the others? Of course, I had the habit of putting the party on hold and running all over in stealth to steal and pillage and maybe backstab some so maybe that is why they didn't appear. anyway, I went back to the area several times looking for other stuff I missed. Never got more than three.

Never found any in the circle tower either. been there the second playthrough with mages. Killed the dragonlings, but no scales. been in the tower many times since also. nothing new spawned.

I wonder if somethign triggers them? Do you need to talk to wade first? I haven't made it to the caves this second time around yet.

The 6th drake bugs out and never appears sometimes. I had that in 2 games.

There are no drakes in Circle tower.

one drake in circle tower and also some scales in a chests also theres an random encounter with a drake. Then the only drakes left are on the way to urn.

Scales in chest? You must be very lucky since I never found any scales in chest. The only scales I got were 6 in the caverns.

yes in the chest after you kill  the single drake in the circle tower  in the room where a load of little dragon things attack you forgot their name dragonling or something there 2 scales in a chest but some game runs there was something else in there i think it random.

There isn't any drakes in the tower only the dragonlings. Done 5 playthroughs of the broken circle and not once encountered a drake.



I did get 7 scales on one run though, if you side with Kolgrim, when you get to the mountaintop there is a drake in his group. I doublecrossed him after doing what he asked and naturally they all went aggro and thus an extra scale. Though of course no use for it other than to vendor it or keep it as a 'memento'

I found drakes in the following places:



3 drakes in the livestock room (bunch of cages with animals inside), the drakes come all at once when you move into the room.

2 drakes are summoned when you fight the Arcane Warrior cultist.

1 drake is in the egg room (where the Blood Mage amulet is found inside a dragon egg).

there are 6 in the temple. i made the mistake of missing one once too. just go back, it'll still be there.

An addendum to this, those two drakes only spawn if you go near the stairs where the AW stands. If you pull him down and away from the platform, the drakes will not appear and you might miss them.
